Setup Blackberry Development Environment on Java + Linux + eclipse juno
Hmm..your logs say artifacts not found and so I guess you're using the eclipse blackberry plugin update site to download the jde which unfortunately is no more supported by blackberry. You'll need to download the blackberry eclipse jde bundle that is pre installed with blackberry jde. Check this out. Moreover I haven't seen any support for linux yet.

Created a java test script in eclipse, how do i run it in a headless linux CentOS VM?
People usually use either PhantomJS or "Headless Chrome" to run in a headless environment. Also, some people run regular browsers from a XVFB framebuffer. Here is a blog article that I found that explains how to install XVFB. xvfb-run --server-args='-screen 0, 1024x768x16' google-chrome -start-maximized http://example.com > /dev/null & Using XVFB and VNC, you could probably login remotely and watch your tests run on the headless box but I haven't tried this. You would have to experiment with it.

Eclipse: Setting to generate errors when using classes from Java releases later than project's compliance level
A 7 runtime fulfills the requirements of a 6 Execution Environment. Targeting an actual Java 6 runtime is what you're supposed to do if you want compilation errors using anything that's not in there. Remember, it's not just new classes in 7, it's new methods.

why Eclipse generate .class file if there is a syntax error in my java source file?
Because you can run and debug a class that has only been compiled partially, as long as you only move through the code parts which compiled without error. If your control flow comes to the place with the compilation error, an exception will happen at runtime. Just remember if you have ever changed code directly during debugging (hot code replacement): Many IDEs will even warn you that under some conditions you are partially removing existing code, but you still want to continue that exact same debugging session, so this feature is really needed.

What's a good way to set up Closure Compiler on Linux? Or, where should Java .jar's live on a Linux?
If you using the java command directly, then you'll have to provide a path to the jar in question. It's probably easier to place the jar in one place and create a shell script that handles the invocation and jar path.

I tried it on a few linux machines running: 3.8.0-23-generic, ubuntu, x86_64, bash version 4.2.45(1)-release 2.6.32-5-686, debian, i686, bash version 4.1.5(1)-release 2.6.32-5-amd64, debian, x86_64, bash version 4.2.37(1)-release in each case if I used the same seed I had the same results. Check to see if you're running different bash versions or if anything else strange might be interfering with your results. It should work exactly as you said.

(If problem stays then go to Project Properties => Java Build Path => Order and Export and check Android Private Libraries, then clean and build project. It may be necessary to repeat the process, restart the SDK Manager after the update.

How to generate javadoc in eclipse for a nested class?
From what I've seen of docs you don't need to tell it, it will create a javadoc for the class A.B showing that B is a nested class. http://www.cs.washington.edu/education/courses/cse341/98au/java/jdk1.2beta4/docs/tooldocs/win32/javadoc.html ctr-F inner to find the mention It says "Inner classes must be specified as outer.inner, not simply inner, for all forms." and I'm sure a good doc generator will do that

How can I get Eclipse CDT to generate a C++ class constructor from data members?
The feature is NOT in CDT yet. I've been envying the Eclipse JDT (Java) for the feature of "Generate constructor using fields" for years. 8o It saves so~ much time for boiler plate code. If you like this feature too, please Vote it up together with your friends/colleagues in the following page! https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=306902#c4 So that we can all have this feature in next release!

Eclipse automatic generate fingerprint sha1 for every android project?
Eclipse, by default, generates a key for debugging purposes and it's located on ~/.android/debug.keystore. Each Android app needs to be signed with a certificate to confirm authorship. Eclipse generates a keystore per user and signs the app's with the default cert from that keystore during development.

How to teach eclipse to generate compact equals() and hashCode() from the jdk 7 Objects class?
In the Eclipse preferences go to Java > Editor > Templates. In there you can create a new template. The pattern could look like: @Override public int hashCode() { return Objects.hash(one, two, three, four/*, ...*/); } I'm not sure if there's a variable that will properly enumerate your fields however. You might want to look at some further explanations on these templates

How to use Gradle to generate Eclipse and Intellij project files for Android projects
Gradle itself is a generic build tool, it is not created specifically for Android. All the functionality is enabled using plug-ins. Traditionally, build plug-ins don't generate project structure. That's the job of project specific tools. The android plug-in for Gradle follows this. The problem is that current android tool in SDK generates old type of project structure (ant builds). The new project structure can only be generated via Android Studio. There is a concept of archetypes in tools like Maven, which allow using project templates. Gradle does not support that yet (requests have been made for this feature). Refer to this thread: http://issues.gradle.org/browse/GRADLE-1289 , some users have provided scripts to generate structure. Build Initialization feature is in progress: http

Don't use sudo for this task! Instead, give the appropriate permissions to the device so that the user can access it. This is possible by either using chmod/chown to change the device file's permissions, or use adduser <username> <group> to add the current user to that devices group.

Eclipse - Common Preference settings file(.epf) for Linux and Windows
No, because JAVA_HOME could point to, well, anything--1.3, 1.7, who knows? You want complete and conscious control over what's in a project's Java Build Path and complete isolation from the OS if you want your projects to be portable. It's ok to have the preferences refer to things unique to the machine, you can change those on other machines, it's the settings in the projects that you don't want tied a specific machine. Start by setting their Java Build Path to use an Execution Environment to find its JRE.

Finding root cause of java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space using Eclipse MAT
Your stacktrace shows the method UnixFileSystem.list(File) which is a native method and it’s creating a string array for storing the file names. The remaining question is why it is creating an array of size 16 million. The method starts with an array of size 16 and will double it once the directory scan has more iterations than the array size. So the number of iterations now are between 8 million and 16 million. You either have that unbelievable number of files in that directory or there is a problem in the loop termination condition in that native code.

My eclipse tomcat server is stopping and gives these exceptions "java.net.SocketException" and "java.net.BindException"
Look at the last stack in the logs and you find the root cause of your problem: Address already in use: JVM_Bind It means there is already a process running and listening on the port you try to use. Most of the time, this error is caused by a previous run of your own program that didn't terminate (properly), or is still running. Take a look in your IDE to see if you don't have some running instance alive (and kill it). You can also take look at running process under Windows task manager (or any other equivalent utility on other platforms) and try to identify the process using the port. You may also have a tomcat running as a window service: in this case, just change the port use by your program to avoid conflicts.

eclipse java annotation processing commit generated java classes with subclipse to svn
Since this has been unanswered for over a year, I'll take a stab at it. I had a similar problem with Eclipse's .project and .classpath files, which I wanted maintained in Subversion. I believe you may have to tell Eclipse not to ignore "resources." These are files that have extensions but no names (e.g. .project or .classpath or .apt_generated). From Eclipse's Project Explorer click on the View Menu icon (the upside down triangle icon). Then Customize View... then remove the check from the checkbox labeled .* resources.

How to run another java process with console in java (in Linux)
To start terminl you can simply run following code: new ProcessBuilder("/usr/bin/xterm").start(); But I guess, that is not you really need. Because, even you pass command to run, let's say ls as argument: new ProcessBuilder("/usr/bin/xterm", "-e", "ls").start(); You will get output from xterm(not from ls). If you want to start process and get output, you need to do it like that: public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { // get content of the "/usr/bin" directory ProcessBuilder pb = new ProcessBuilder("ls", "/usr/bin"); pb.redirectErrorStream(true); Process p = pb.start(); InputStream is = p.getInputStream(); System.out.println(toString(is)); is.close(); } public static String toString(InputStream is) throws IOException { Writer write
