Faint Sidebar Line and Height Issue
Yes, it's a background image, referenced in #content (style.css line 105) - try replace it with a solid colour such as #FBFBFB. You'll also need to replace the background on #content-top (style.css line 100) with the same colour. I suggest you also add border-radius:5px 5px 0 0; to #content-top to round your corners in a similar way to how they were when using the background image. The reason for your third box being shortert is because the first two posts have the .first class (see #main-area .first style.css line 108) which is pushing them down more than the third item. You could probably just remove this style altogether.

Issue with 100% height for Sidebar (Panel) in twitter bootstrap
In order to make 'height:100%' work for any HTML element, its parent item should have a height value defined. Or the item will expand to height of the nearest ancestor with a height defined. If all the ancestors of an element have no height defined or defined in percentage, then in order to have the element to expand to the height of the page, you should give both 'body' and 'html' a 100% height. If you are using bootstrap responsive, using html, body{ height:100%} in css should solve the problem. Make sure that this rule appear after you includes bootstrap-responsive.css

Jquery Sidebar/Panel Close Issue
Please try this. The nested ul which is inside #files li will also respond to the click in your code. But we can prevent that by using stopPropagate() which will prevent the handler to be associated with the parent elements. Jquery $(document).ready(function(){ var docked = 0; $("#dock li ul").height($(window).height()); $("#dock li").click(function(event){ var test = $(this).find("ul").css('width'); if (test=="0px"){ $(".docked").addClass("free").removeClass("docked").animate({right:"-40px",width:'0px'}, 200); $(this).find("ul").addClass("docked").removeClass("free").animate({right:"40px",width:'180px'}, 200); }else{

Dreaded ???? instead of characters when displaying chinese text. Simplified Chinese Character issue
The first problem is that setting the LC_TIME category is not enough by itself. The strftime function will attempt to format the time in the appropriate language, but it seems to use the 1252 codepage by default, so it will be incapable of producing the necessary characters for something like Chinese. I would have expected that setting LC_TIME and maybe LC_CTYPE would be enough, but the only way I could get it to work was with LC_ALL. So your setlocale calls should look like this: if($language->language == 'zh-hans') { $loc=setlocale(LC_ALL, 'chs'); }else{ $loc=setlocale(LC_ALL, 'de'); } The next problem is that mb_detect_encoding won't always detect the correct encoding. What works for me on Windows is to use setlocale(LC_CTYPE, 0) to get back the current code page. $codep

How to set the sidebar with widget to 100% height?
Generally, the trick for 100% height is to set all parent elements to height:100%. #wrapper, #body, html, body, body > table > tbody > tr > td { height:100%;} /* parents */ #secondary{ height:100%;} #bottom_footer {position:relative;} /* positions footer to overlap #secondary */

Bootstrap fully 100% height with a sidebar
The height of the sidebar is 100%, however, when you scroll down the page, the height of the page becomes more than 100%. The sidebar's height won't increase to match the page's height. Thus, changing the sidebar's position property to position:fixed could help.

Full height sidebar with a background image
Idk if your talking about asigning the height to the total height of another division or the body. If you are talking about a division you need to asign a division relative to the body with another division inside asigned with the property of height 100% if you want the height to be 100% of the body just do 100% after doing position absolute. that will work good.

I have an issue with animating the height of my nav with jquery - it makes me click the button twice
You need to click it twice because your menu_button div does not have an 'isDown' class to begin with. The first time you click it, it animates it to 0px (which it already is) and adds the class. Then, the second time you click it works as expected. Do this: <div id="menu_button" class="isDown">

Zend_Db PDO exception arises with a mySQL View?
Why does your query use the subquery: ->from(array('C' => new Zend_Db_Expr('('.$sub_sql.')'))) Instead of simply: ->from('place_fcb') With the former, there is no place_fcb table in the outer query; hence so-qualified references fail (and always would, so I can't see how it used to work for you prior to this upgrade). If you insist on keeping the subquery, you could rename the subquery's alias from 'C' to 'place_fcb', although that is likely to cause confusion in the long term; better to rename the qualified references from 'place_fcb' to 'C'.

When trying to display a chart using ChartIt, Error saying template does not exist arises
I noticed in their installation instructions they don't say to add 'chartit' to the INSTALLED_APPS in your settings file, but they did in their demo project. Have you done that? Edit: dan-klasson is correct. You need to specify the template to return. Your view should be returning the following: return render_to_response('testCommits.html', {'linechart': linechart}) The dictionary is the context in that is passed to the template. The first argument is the template name, which in your case is testCommits.html.

jQuery - get tallest image's height, apply other images' height difference to top margin
Try this: function createGrid() { var imgs = $('.hlist figure > img'); var maxImgHeight = 0; imgs.each(function () { var imgHeight = $(this).outerHeight(); maxImgHeight = maxImgHeight > imgHeight ? maxImgHeight : imgHeight; }); imgs.each(function () { var margin = maxImgHeight > $(this).outerHeight() ? (maxImgHeight - $(this).outerHeight()) : 0; $(this).css("margin-top", (margin + "px")); }); } The first each loop looks for the tallest height and stores it in maxImgHeight, as you originally had planned. The second each loop calculates and applies the margin for each image. The conditional assignment will cause the margin-top for the tallest image to be 0.

Basically it's as easy as this: window.onscroll = function() { var sticky = document.getElementById('stickynav'); if( document.body.scrollTop+document.documentElement.scrollTop > 240) sticky.className = "stuck"; else sticky.className = ""; }; Then just define styles in the .stuck class that add things like position:fixed to the element.

Javascript / jQuery - Is there a performance difference between height() and .css({'height'})
Read the Source, Luke. jQuery.prototype.height: //snipped to end: return value === undefined ? // Get width or height on the element, requesting but not forcing parseFloat jQuery.css( elem, type, extra ) : // Set width or height on the element jQuery.style( elem, type, value, extra ); jQuery.prototype.css: return value !== undefined ? jQuery.style( elem, name, value ) : jQuery.css( elem, name ); The difference between the two is what's done before going over the matched elements, and that extra parameter that's passed in .height. What could rationally cause a big slowdown? I've no real idea. Maybe it has to do with optimizations a js engine can do in one, but not the other. More likely than not, the perf test is bad (testing these things correctly is very ha

Javascript / jQuery : get height when max-height is set to 0
My first question would to be why are you using max-height: 0; is there something else you can use? Like hide() show() which use display: none the only thing I can thing of would be to remove the max-height css get the height and then reapply the max-height: $('.div').css('max-height', 'none') console.log($('.div').height()) $('.div').css('max-height', '0') This should happen fast enough that you wont see the element but it could be wise to hide it before removing the max-height with: $('.div').hide() $('.div').css('max-height', 'none') console.log($('.div').height()) $('.div').css('max-height', '0') $('.div').show()
