Scrolling horizontal and vertical both direction
Here is a similar tutorial: http://www.raywenderlich.com/4723/how-to-make-an-interface-with-horizontal-tables-like-the-pulse-news-app-part-2 Basically you need to do following: Take a tableView or CollectionView In each cell you need to add a scrollview with horizontal scrolling enabled. Add items to scroll view of each cell while creating cells and give the scroll view appropriate content size. It will give you a desired result.

horizontal scrolling and vertical scrolling in site using mobile view only
I think that you can use @media query and overflow-x or overflow-y to control the scrollbars, so with that said you can combine this: CSS body { overflow: hidden; } @media (max-width: 480px) { body { overflow-y: auto; } } Adjust the 480px to meet your specific needs. Here is a fiddle that shows this query working when you resize the browser to lower than 480px you can see that the scrollbar comes back. Let me know if this works for you. As you can see we have the overflow set to hidden on the body (as you have now) and with this @media query I can bring it back when the width is 480px or lower.

Auto vertical scrolling of RichTextBox on panel scrolling c#
in order to hide the scroll bars you can do richTextBox1.ScrollBars = RichTextBoxScrollBars.None; but the problem with it is that it makes the text warp. so you also need richTextBox1.WordWrap = false; once you've done that the rest isn't that easy too. register on the event of the panel scrolling and change the scroll on the rich text box. the problem is is that you can't just change is scrolling offset of the richTextBox, so you can use the Select method to jump to the place you need. you can use the length of the line to know what's the size of the scrollBar need to be. at the end, it's gonna be a hard time work. good luck

Why is font size different in vertical direction
When using lfEscapement, you will often get strange behaviour as it renders text using a fairly different pipeline. A trick would be to have lfEscapement set for both. One with 900, and one with a very low value (such as 1 or even 10. Once you have both rendering with escapement, you should be good. If you're still having issues with smoothing, try doing something like this: BOOL bSmooth; //Get previous smooth value. SystemParametersInfo(SPI_GETFONTSMOOTHING, 0, &bSmooth, 0); //Set no smoothing. SystemParametersInfo(SPI_SETFONTSMOOTHING, 0, NULL, 0); //Draw text. //Return smoothing. SystemParametersInfo(SPI_SETFONTSMOOTHING, bSmooth, NULL, 0);

Disable scrolling when the animation of scrolling is taking place
At the beginning of your function, you could apply some CSS attributes to make it unscrollable. Then at the end of your animation, revert it back to normal. For example: At the beginning of your animation $('html, body').css({ 'overflow': 'hidden', 'height': '100%' }) Then, at then end $('html, body').css({ 'overflow': 'auto', 'height': 'auto' }) This is virtually the same thing as this answer: http://stackoverflow.com/a/17293689/2247151

jQuery - disable scrolling body, enable scrolling div
The question's comments already pointed out that this kind of implementation has some weaknesses. Therefore, I'd suggest to create a header and a footer and position both with position: fixed while the main search content will basically stay untouched (besides some kind of top and bottom padding to make space for the header and the footer).

JavaFX - Adding nodes to ScrollPane with correct scrolling direction
In regards to the scrollpane issues, I know what you're looking to do is possible because I'm doing something very similar. Based on the code snippet you gave above I would suggest trying few things... Give the ScrollPane a preferred height and width to follow. Don't give the content VBox any height sizing preference as it will grow with its contents. There should be no need to update its height after adding content either. Use the VBox's setAlignment method to align its contents either TOP_LEFT, TOP_CENTER, or TOP_RIGHT. Be cautious when using the getPrefHeight() method because if you haven't used setPrefHeight() beforehand I believe it will return -1. Hope this helps you out!

Animate Vertical Scrolling Text
UIScrollView should do the trick. A very quick way to make it loop infinitely is to have a blank area at the top and bottom that's the size of the scroll view. (there are other solutions, like this, or WWDC code (search for "street scroller" here... but these might be a bit much for just the "about" view). But with a blank on each end of the content, you can just loop like this: - (void)loopCredits { CGRect frame = self.creditsScrollView.frame; CGPoint bottomOffset = CGPointMake(0, self.creditsScrollView.contentSize.height-frame.size.height); [UIView animateWithDuration:10.0 animations:^{ self.creditsScrollView.contentOffset = bottomOffset; } completion:^(BOOL finished) { // non animated scroll back, then run this method again with a perform //

Vertical Parallax Scrolling Of UIView in iOS
Ok so, in my point of view you could try to do something like that : first use only two view, in your example only two view is visible at the same time and so you could re-use the view for the next slide you want to display. So at the start you have 2 views (lets say they have the same size than the screen 300x500, yes I know they are not the real size, but it will be more easy for the math :p). In you init function place you view one in position 150x250 (the center of the screen), and the screen 2 at 150x500 (so you see only the upper half of your view). lets call panGestureTranslation.y : DeltaY (it will be more quick). so in the function panGestureRecognizer you want to move the two view with the parralex effect, one simple solution in this exact case will be to move view1 of 2*Del

How to make DIV header 100% but still allow for vertical scrolling?
The reason why "#ScalableImage" overlaps "#BlockBlue1" is because you have position: absolute in your styling of "#ScalableImage" - so it gets pulled out of the layout, and as such covers other elements. To achieve what (I think) you're looking for, you may want to remove that position:absolute style, then add: body, html{ height:100%; margin:0; } (The 0 margin is just in case the browser renders the body/html elements with a margin.) I hope this is helpful for you. Good luck! (Edit) Added a JSFiddle to show you what I'm seeing: http://jsfiddle.net/BDd62/ (Edit 2) Having seen your additional code, I think I've identified the reason for that white space. It's because of your top margin on "#htxt", which actually moves its parent element in this case. (You can read a more in-d

How can I make UITableView less sensitive to vertical scrolling?
Here's a couple suggestions. Try them and see how they feel. Suggestion 1 When you dequeue your tableViewCells, try calling this: [tableView.panGestureRecognizer requireGestureRecognizerToFail:cell.scrollView.panGestureRecognizer]; Suggestion 2 Try setting this on your tableView: self.tableView.delaysContentTouches = NO; That property defaults to YES. It delays touches to the content of the table view cells by a fraction of a second, to help it recognize the difference between a tap and a drag.

UIScrolview Prioritize vertical and horizontal scrolling
In iOS 5, UIScrollView exposes its UIPanGestureRecognizer. Set your custom swipe’s delegate to self and make the gestureRecognizer a property or ivar, and make your class conform to the <UIGestureRecognizerDelegate> protocol. Then, implement UIGestureRecognizerDelegate’s – gestureRecognizer:shouldRecognizeSimultaneouslyWithGestureRecognizer: like so: -(BOOL)gestureRecognizer:(UIGestureRecognizer *)gestureRecognizer shouldRecognizeSimultaneouslyWithGestureRecognizer:(UIGestureRecognizer *)otherGestureRecognizer { if ([gestureRecognizer isEqual:self.swipe] && [otherGestureRecognizer isEqual:self.scrollView.panGestureRecognizer]) { return NO; } return YES; //default }

Add vertical scrolling to a section of android viewPager
Implement the following functionality. I hope it helps you. mList = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.list); mList.setOnTouchListener(new View.OnTouchListener () { @Override public boolean onTouch(View v, MotionEvent event) { mList.getParent().requestDisallowInterceptTouchEvent(true); return false; } }); When a touch event occurs, parent always get to intercept the event. Here the parent is View Pager. What you are trying to do here is, when a touch on list view appears, request the parent not to intercept the touch event. This way, the touch event will be received by the Child, which here is ListView, and thus scrolls accordingly.

UIScrollView strategies for horizontal and vertical scrolling
Since horizontal 'scrolling' is only allowed when a button is tapped, then set the UIScrollView contentSize width to the width of the screen and its height as appropriate. For 'scrolling' horizontally on button taps, just animate the moving of a view horizontally. The view hierarchy would be something like an outerView that is the width and height of what you are setting your UIScrollView contentSize to currently. Your scroll view is a subview of the outerView and the toolbar is a subview of the scroll view. To animate the horizontal movement, it is typically easiest to change the outerView.center and the toolbarView.center, something like: CGPoint newCenterPoint; CGPoint newToolbarCenterPoint; CGPoint centerPoint1 = // set center as appropriate CGPoint centerPoint2 = // set center
