vs2012 crystal reports vs fast reports
Please do yourself a favor and search google for "I hate Crystal Reports". The sheer number and ferocity of complaints is astounding. From absentee customer service and legacy black box licensing to useless documentation and lack of flexibility, I'm surprised this product is still around. Use anything else you can, we roll our own reports via the web.

Crystal Reports For Id
You want to add a group for the ID card key, then add a formula to the the 'new page before' formula under the section expert for the group header. not onfirstrecord and remainder(recordnumber, 2) = 1 Whenever this formula is true it will insert a new page. Since it's in the group header, it will create a new page before every other ID card (except for the first card) giving you 2 card per page. You could size the details section to be about half the page height to evenly space the cards on the page.

SQL for DB2 not working in Crystal Reports
The last end-parenthesis should be the offending one. Remove that so that your code will look like this: ... ... IEWHS# FROM ASTDTA.ICBALMIE) I tested with dummy data on an AS/400 v6r1 system. The SQL will compile and result in data without an issue. Hopefully Crystal Reports won't have much problem in using the resulting data. I don't have access to Crystal Reports to test the result. Only if you are interested in unsolicited advise, I propose a slightly different way of writing the SQL: SELECT LMLTPC, COALESCE(IRLOC1,'') as IRLOC1, COALESCE(IRLOC2,'') as IRLOC2, COALESCE(IRLOC3,'') as IRLOC3, IRPRT#, IRQOH#, IRWHS#, '' as IEPRT#, '.00' as IEQOH#, '' as IELOC1, '' as IELOC2, '' as IELOC3,

VB 6.0 Crystal Reports Export to PDF
I guess that 'filename' value does not work, either because the folder does not exist / the file name is not valid, or because you do not have the corresponding rights to create a file under this folder. Could you try the code with some basic parameter like 'filename = "c: est.pdf"'? My last guess: the possibility to export to pdf format needs a specific dll file under the crystal folder (does not need to be registered but needs to be here). Do you have the crxf_pdf.dll file ? EDIT: My last question: are you able to expor tto PDF from the Crystal GUI? Here is a list of the crystal report files that must be distributed with a VB app, if of any help: export capabilities seem to be linked to the crxf_*.dll files CRAnalyzer.dll craxdrt.dll crdb_ado.dll crdeploy.reg crheapalloc.dll crq

Connect Crystal Reports in Database
Hope you are using Report document and here is the C# code snippet to set the connection on the fly. You may need to traverse through the sub reports as well to set the connections if any for (int i = 0; i < reportDocument.DataSourceConnections.Count; i++) { reportDocument.DataSourceConnections[i].SetConnection(Server.Name, Database.Name, Server.User.Name,Server.User.Password); reportDocument.DataSourceConnections[i].SetLogon(Server.User.Name, Server.User.Password); }

Barcode in MVC3 with Crystal Reports
The process to display barcodes in asp.net app (MVC in my case) is really transform the font in an jpeg. Step 1: get the value for barcode and add "*" in start and end, then creates the Bitmap, Font and Graphics. DataRow row = dataTable.NewRow(); string barcode = "*" + ID.ToString() + VALOR_VENDA.Value.ToString() + "*"; row["nome"] = NOME_PRODUTO; row["preco"] = VALOR_VENDA.Value; int w = barcode.Length * 40; Bitmap oBitmap = new Bitmap(w, 100); Graphics oGraphics = Graphics.FromImage(oBitmap); Font oFont = new Font("IDAutomationHC39M", 18); PointF oPoint = new PointF(2f, 2f); SolidBrush oBrushWrite = new SolidBrush(Color.Black

How can i Debug this crystal reports formula?
As CR doesn't have a debugging feature, you will need to try one of these approaches: Build a formula one piece at a time and view the results on the canvas Test complicated logic by returning a value for each case: If [test] Then 'A' Else If [test] Then 'B' Else 'C' Refactor reusable logic into a custom function In any case, a better way to structure the logic: IF Not( {REPORT_INVOICE_SUMMARY.ITEMCONCAT} IN ['Move','Daywork','Billable Repair','Turnkey Daywork'] ) AND InStr({REPORT_INVOICE_SUMMARY.ITEMCONCAT},'Non-Billable',1) = 0 THEN {REPORT_INVOICE_SUMMARY.QUANTITY} ELSE 0

Crystal reports syntax error
By assuming that the records are printed in the details section and the formula for the total is located in the footer section, you get the wrong result because in the for loop you are always reading the last record printed in the details section since the footer in being rendered after the details section. As a solution you can use one of the following methods : Solution with 2 formulas. Create a formula called ItemCountDetails and add following code. WhilePrintingRecords; Shared NumberVar Cnt; if RecordNumber = 1 then Cnt:= 0; if {Table_1.Property} = "Laptop" then Cnt:= Cnt + 1; Drag and drop the formula field somewhere on the details section (where your records will be printed) and suppress it by right clicking on the field -> Format Object -> Common Tab -> and checking

Generic grouping with Crystal Reports
I will try to answer to extent I understand your question. From your post you are looking for a report that can satisfy multiple clients. If columns are same for clients then its a simple job write a formula with "IF" condition for all clients and use that formula in a group and create a parameter with the client details. You formula should be if in parameter client X is selected then report group formula will take this input and display the report. IF you wish you can even limit for the client details. If columns are different then its a bit difficult job create the report with the columns of all clients and write supress condition for fields in a way that if client X is slected then columns for that client should get displayed. Follow point 1 to create the client selection. Note: A

How to insert query in ASP.net C# for crystal reports
First, you have to write a stored procedure to flow the data into the crystal report. After that, In crystal report, Choose Database->Database Expert, In that you need to select the corresponding stored procedure. In field explorer, you will see the stored procedure and its field. So you can place the fields where you need in the crystal report. see this http://blog.softwaremedia.com/2012/01/set-up-your-database-and-create-a-report-in-crystal-reports/

Functional alternative to Crystal Reports
Note: This answer is relevant only if your goal is to do pdf reports. We were having same troubles using crystal or telerik reports and came to conclusion that using html -> pdf conversion approach is just most productive. wkhtmltopdf is great for it. You can basically assemble html report in (asp.net razor, java...), send it to wkthtmltopdf console application and get back pdf. We went little bit further with this approach and implemented jsreport reporting server. It additionally includes html report designer, JSON REST API, javascript templating engines interpreter and also maintains report templates for you.

Crystal Reports ApplyLogOnInfo never works
I had similar issue. It matters which version of Crystal reports you are using. For some versions if you set the table location in addition of ApplyLogOnInfo the report will work. Are you trying to set the report connection during the runtime or you have also separate reports for the different environments ? We found that it is easier to create different report environments (but we have just 2: development and production). This allowed us to set once the connection information - when we move the reports from development to production. We had few in house developed tools, which were taking care for the different report versions. Now we are using this 3rd party tool : http://www.r-tag.com/Pages/CRDataSource.aspx It seems to handle all the versions correctly, but works just for one connecti

crystal reports not displaying a result
Well, it's a bit of a mess. I guess I neglected to mention that I'm using an Oracle database. What does this mean? It means that support for the dataset object is mediocre, at best. I had created a multiple table dataset with the expectation that things would behave as advertised. It turns out that .FILL for the dataset object includes the ability to name a table, and for SQLServer it will fill the appropriate table. For Oracle, not so much. So the code as displayed does work, to a degree, but I hadn't filled all of the tables in the dataset so it wasn't going to work anyway and when I tried to fill them that didn't work. I've since switched to a view based model where I'm using views structured to provide the required data to the report. This eliminates the need for a multiple table dat

Changes don't get saved in Crystal Reports report
Welcome to the club :) Crystal Reports can behave very strangely in some cases. For instance, some times when i edit a report file in Windows XP, it crashes the interface and corrupts the file when i save it. The same problem doesn't appear in Windows 7. However other strange things happen in Windows 7 also. I would recommend you to Always apply the latest Service Pack available for the Crystal Reports Engine. Always check if the asterisk sign disappears from the opened report file when you save it (some times it doesn't when you hit save and it does when you hit save all and vice versa). Always backup your report files once in a while because to recover a corrupted file is a very hard task. You can try the following to find out what causes the problem Create a new blank Windows

Crystal Reports Formula - How to add another clause
You really should refer to the the documentation on IIF: IIF (expression, truePart, falsePart) Description IIF returns one of two parts, depending on the evaluation of the expression. Arguments • expression is a Boolean expression. • truePart is the value returned if expression is True. It can be any simple type (Number, Currency, String, Boolean, Date, Time or DateTime) or range type (Number Range, Currency Range, String Range, Date Range, Time Range or DateTime Range), but it may not be an array. • falsePart is the value returned if expression is False. It must be of the same type as truePart. So this: IIF ({REPORT_INVOICE_SUMMARY.ITEMCONCAT} = 'Daywork', {REPORT_INVOICE_SUMMARY.QUANTITY}, 0) Basically says: IF REPORT_INVOICE_SUMMARY.

Crystal Reports Sort by difference of sub groups
Do you have direct access to the database? For example, if this is a SQL database, I would create a stored procedure that creates the calculations for each group. Then when you add the stored procedure to the report you could easily sort them. Some functionality is easier to produce on the db side instead of Crystal.

Suppress fields in Crystal Reports based on a bit value from the DB
If you are populating a DataTable and passing that to CR, then you could ues a ForEach loop to go through the DataRows and massage the data there. Better still, you could handle this in the stored procedure that is returning the data.

Updating Data Provider of Crystal Reports
Unless someone has a quicker / simpler solution, here is the approach I use to get crystal reports working with MS Access in Visual Studio 2010. It is slightly more involved than the normal method of selecting a datasource, but it offers more control, is database agnostic and works where the other methods sometimes fail (especially with MS Access in my experience). I'll detail the process of getting the reports working from start to finish (because the entire process may be useful for others) but will highlight the bits that may be of use to you. 1) Install Crystal Reports form the SAP site. Make sure you download the exe file, NOT the msi one (it doesn't work): http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-7824 2) Change the Target Framework of your app to .Net Framework 4 (NOT client). The Crystal st

How to wait to load a Crystal Reports File On ASP.NET C#?
With Crystal in ASP.Net, I load reports in the Page_Init not the Page_Load event. Also, the closing and disposing cleanup is handled in the Page_Unload event. I noticed that the first report after the web application starts takes a considerable amount of time to load This is the Crystal runtime. After the first load, everything is fine. This will also happen after IIS shuts down the web application after idle time. The only thing you can do about that is to warm up the crystal runtime. One option is to do this in your application at start up. Even it means calling a dummy blank crystal report at Application_Start from your global.asax.

Log4net in Crystal reports on Windows Azure with IIS 32
To fix this erro is necessary check 3 points: 1° How i said in my question, processor (AMD64 or x86) is one of fonts of the erro. Some articles say about change the deploy mode from ANY to x86. This not fix this error, and generate others bugs depending of situation. Dont do this. 2° This LINK show how change the log4net for work. In some cases this can fix the problem. 3° If your processor is correct with version of log4net and the bug persists, install in your server the Crystal Reports CR again, in my case works, perhaps the instalation fix some other bugs in bin folder. In my case, i need to install Azure Cloud app.

asp.net Crystal Reports, Database Logon Failed
I'm going to go ahead and post what I have so that maybe it'll help you. We gave up on Crystal because it was just too sketchy (I believe the first time the export would fail and then it would work every time after that until the app shut down) and SAP basically told us they didn't care if we took a hike, so we did. We switched to SSRS and are far happier for it... But I digress. You don't show a lot of code, so I don't know if this is how yours is working. Also, mine is C#, so you'll need to convert... But hopefully you can find the solution to your problem somewhere in this example. I imagine it's going to be in the setting of the credentials... Load the document: ReportDocument rd = new ReportDocument(); rd.Load(rptFile); Set credentials ConnectionInfo connectInfo = new Connection

Is there any Crystal Reports object that works like DIV in HTML?
you can add css to your crystal report and i think it can help you so much because of your background in html but if you want to use c# codes the thing which can i offer you is working with sections, you can add new object with left and top and height and width of that objects for example you can add an ole object or field object or text object or subreport object like this: CRAXDRT.Report report2 = new CRAXDRT.Report(); CRAXDRT.Application app2 = new CRAXDRT.Application(); report2 = app2.OpenReport("Test.rpt", OpenReportMethod.OpenReportByDefault); CRAXDRT.TextObject to3 = report2.Sections[i].AddTextObject("This is text object sample", 0, 0); to3.Left = 100; to3.Top = 20; to3.

Crystal Reports Integrated Authentication issue
The issue originates from the access provider. In Set Database location look up properties of database connection. Under provider it lists how it accesses data. In my case it was SQLNCLI11. The client that was present on all workstations was older SQLOLEDB. Once changed follow the steps on each and every subreport too and remember to re-import. If you add new tables verify that they are added through correct provider - if not - correct manually.

Crystal Reports 2010 for.net deployment error
I received a response from Crystal that clarifies the installation of cr 2010 for .net in a very simple, clear, step by step way for something that is a very simple operation -- installing CR manually on the target PC. Since I am not using the merge modules I cannot comment on that procedure. For development - VS 2010 - Crystal Reoports for VS 2010 (SP6) install executable. For deployment three forms of Crystal runtimes are available. Any ONE should be used. MSI (Server installer / redistributable) MSM (merge modules Click once. See Deployment section in CR for VS .NET SDK developer guide MSMs are meant to be included in the setup package. MSI are meant to be manually installed on the target pc. For your situation (using MSI), install the setup of your app on the target machine

Which version of Crystal Reports do I reference (32-bit or 64-bit) when developing?
I know this isn't technically an answer to your question, but since it still remains unanswered even after having set a bounty, I thought I might suggest it anyway… You might re-consider whether you really need a 64-bit version of your application. Most line-of-business applications (which I can assume is what you're building, since you're generating reports from it) do not really benefit from being 64-bit. You can build and distribute only a 32-bit version (x86) and it will still run on all machines, regardless of whether they are running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows. This is because all 64-bit versions of Windows include a special subsystem (Windows-on-Windows, or WOW64) that runs 32-bit code. It's entirely seamless, and there are virtually no compatibility problems to

How to catch Crystal Reports parameters dialog when starting?
The parameter value prompt appears either when you connect the CrystalReportViewer with a report from the "Choose a Crystal Report" dialog and then you run the project or when you manually set the ReportSource property of the CrystalReportViewer inside the code and the execution of the project reaches that point. So, you can do the following to achieve your goal. Create a CrystalReportViewer without connecting it from the "Choose a Crystal Report" dialog. Create a form that will behave as a prompt dialog for the values that you want. On the main form, create an event which will show the report in the CrystalReportViewer e.g. a Button_Click. Inside that event, create an instance of the report, show the prompt form that you have created with the ShowDialog method, set the values that you

Crystal Reports: Putting values from several rows into their own columns?
This is labelled "sql", so I assume a SQL solution is ok. The following query pivots the four columns: select SalesOrderId, max(case when seqnum = 1 then hold end) as hold1, max(case when seqnum = 2 then hold end) as hold2, max(case when seqnum = 3 then hold end) as hold3, max(case when seqnum = 4 then hold end) as hold4 from (select s.*, row_number() over (partition by SalesOrderId order by ReleaseDate) as seqnum from (<your query>) s ) s group by SalesOrderId; I'm guessing what the field names are, but the structure you need would be similar to this.
