Connecting to an FTP server on IPv6 in python
After looking at the code of ftplib.py, it seems to me that the code is absolutely ready for IPv6. The library knows about EPSV and EPRT and uses them where appropriate. E.g., def makepasv(self): if self.af == socket.AF_INET: host, port = parse227(self.sendcmd('PASV')) else: host, port = parse229(self.sendcmd('EPSV'), self.sock.getpeername()) return host, port shows that it sends a PASV or an EPSV depending on which IP version we use.

How can I connect to a remote ipv6 mysql server using connector/C++
You should be able to place the IPv6 address in brackets, for instance: con = driver->connect("tcp://[::1]:3306", "root", "123"); Be sure that your MySQL server is actually listening on IPv6. MySQL versions before 5.5 did not support IPv6.

Vb Connecting to an online mysql server database
"I have turned my firewall off but I'm still getting the same error." There is far more filtering going on between you and the destination than your personal firewall, none of which you'll be able to directly disable/change. If the server IP in your example is what you're trying to connect to, then it is very likely a filtering/firewall issue, as cHao mentions. Java client connecting to PHP server for MySQL database with authentication
Create a PHP file that accepts POST. In your JAVA, try passing a custom header KEY:VALUE pair that's verified via your PHP file - or try to think of a more elaborate way. Then, post along the username and password to the PHP file: POST http://server.com/java-auth.php?user=username&pass=password for pseudo example. Then, have that PHP file return a JSON-encoded string or a serialized string... or go super fancy, and encrypt it all with public/private keys. Hope this helps :)

Maxmind ipv6 - How to take an IPV6 IP and convert it into a block they provide?
Since you are using MySQL, you might want to import the IPv6 addresses into binary(16) columns. It should do the correct thing for comparisons, and MySQL 5.6 provides a INET6_ATON function that converts the string notation to binary.

Getting number of IPv6 addresses from Ipv6 CIDR in PHP
An IPv6 address has 128 bits, of which (slightly simplified) a number are dedicated to network address, and the rest are dedicated to host addresses. In your case, 32 bits are dedicated to the network part (/32), so the other 96 are dedicated to host addresses. 2^(128-32) = 2^96 = 79228162514264337593543950336 hosts

Is Apache Tomcat IPv6 compatible without any server.xml changes?
If your server is accepting connections from IPv6 clients, then you will get IPv6 addresses sometimes. Are you fronting Tomcat with another web server that may be accepting IPv6 connections and forwarding them over IPv4? If so, you'll need to reconfigure the web server. You could try adding -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true to your CATALINA_OPTS on the application server. UPDATE 2015-09-03 There are other reasons why you might be getting IPv6 addresses in your access log, even if you have IPv6 completely disabled on the server. For example, if you have a reverse proxy in front of Tomcat, it could be sending an X-Forwarded-For header which includes an IPv6 address in it. Assuming you have Tomcat "properly" configured, Tomcat will log the real client's IP address (in IPv6 form) to your acce

Why a socket server on android always listen on IPv6?
It didn't map IPv4 address to IPv6. Inet4Address and Inet6Address don't have implemented getByName() method so you are actually using the inherited method from InetAddress. If a host is reachable by both IPv4 and IPv6 majority of operating systems will prefer IPv6 over IPv4 (and so should you:) ). You can try getting the array of addresses by InetAddress.getAllByName("localhost") and then check if address is instance of Inet4Address (or Inet6Address in other case), but the easiest solution for this example is hardcoding the loopback address (127.0.0.1) since there is virtually no chance of it changing.

Connecting Clients machine to MySQL Server machine
You can use other tool with good looking GUI. For example: HeidiSQL. Then, you need to enable remote access. If you use windows, there is nice wizard for you to enable remote access with a few clicks. The wizard is located it at MySQL Server 5.5inMySQLInstanceConfig.exe. Then Reconfigure Instance -> Next -> Standard Configuration -> Next -> Next. You will see this screen. Tick on "Enable root access from remote machines". Or you can manually configure it to allow remote access from my.ini file. See this link for how to do it. If having done above still does not allow you to connect to your MySQL. Please make sure that Firewall does not block MySQL port.

sqlsrv error while connecting to mssql server 2008 on windows 2003 server
Two ways to try, first to check if the Native driver has the right version - is your server really a 32bit Version and not 84bit? The other thing is, to check if the extensions are actually loaded. To check that, create a file like "phpinfo.php" and put it in you folder for .htdocs. <?php // show phpinfo file phpinfo(); ?> The easy way is to search for it in the phpinfo-Page with Ctrl+F and "extension=php_sqlsrv_53_ts_vc9.dll"

When you are trying to contact a server in a home network using a basic modem/router, it can fail to recognize or pass along the port number you sent. In this case it was not recognizing or sending 3306 (default for mysql). This would make it so it would never work without SSH tunneling. After adding SSH tunneling it worked as advertised.

First the reason you define config in different file is so that you can just include that file instead of writing the database configuration anytime you want database access. It is preferred best practice. you can do: try { $PDOConnection = new PDO('mysql:host='.DB_HOST.';dbname='.DB_NAME.'', DB_USER, DB_PASS); $PDOConnection->setAttribute(PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE, PDO::ERRMODE_EXCEPTION); //Do you stuffs $PDOConnection = null; } catch(PDOException $e) { //Do something with error }

Connecting to old MySQL servers
From mysql_* to PDO isn't really that bad, PDO just seems a little frightening at first, and agreed, is somewhat more complicated, at least for retrieving data from queries (IMO). It might be a bit at first, but it shouldn't be too bad, and it's more secure as well, in addition to being one of the two current standards. For example, $link = mysql_connect('localhost', 'mysql_user', 'mysql_password'); and mysql_query($sql) become $link = new PDO("mysql:host=localhost;dbname=$dbname", $dbuser, $dbpass); and $statement = $link->prepare($sql); $statement->execute(values);

Always create output output stream before your input stream for Object streams, otherwise you create a deadlock situation. output = new ObjectOutputStream(socket.getOutputStream()); // output.flush(); if the underlying stream is buffered input = new ObjectInputStream(socket.getInputStream()); The input reads the header written by the output, which won't be there unless the output is created first.

One route to take is to make a copy of that Database and put it on the phone as an SQLite Database and have a PHP script that gets the newest additions and adds them to the SQLite database. A second route you could take, is you could ask him to put it JSON format and you would have a dictionary on the phone that held all of the JSON, and then parse the JSON using apples built in parser, NSJSONSerialization or any of the other JSON parsers out there. Using the parsed JSON, you could then do as you please with the list of notifications Another method will be for that guy to write a PHP script for you to access all the notifications and you run that in a for loop and populate a table, or whatever, on the phone of the latest push notifications that way. This while take a few seconds longer t

connecting to an SQL Server database
The problem your having with regards to connecting to the database on a server is because of SqlConnection dbConnection = new SqlConnection("Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;Integrated Security=true"); The best way to do this is to go to your Web.config file and find the block and add a connection to your database in there. eg <add name="ConnectionString" connectionString="Data Source=YOUR SERVER;Initial Catalog=YOUR DATABASE;User ID=YOUR USER ID;Password=YOUR PASSWORD" /> then you can just call the connection string accross your whole project whenever you need to use it. Also with regards to VS2012. There are very few companies using that IDE at the moment so your probably better off learning VS 2010 in the most part but i would agree that VS2008 is fairly out of date now

Conversion IPv6 to long and long to IPv6
An IPv6 address is a 128-bit number as described here. A long in Java is represented on 64 bits, so you need another structure, like a BigDecimal or two longs (a container with an array of two longs or simply an array of two longs) in order to store an IPv6 address. Below is an example (just to provide you an idea): public class Asd { public static long[] IPToLong(String addr) { String[] addrArray = addr.split(":");//a IPv6 adress is of form 2607:f0d0:1002:0051:0000:0000:0000:0004 long[] num = new long[addrArray.length]; for (int i=0; i<addrArray.length; i++) { num[i] = Long.parseLong(addrArray[i], 16); } long long1 = num[0]; for (int i=1;i<4;i++) { long1 = (long1<<16) + num[i]; } long long2 = num[4]; for (int i=5;i<8;i

Contructor & Destructor Used for Connecting DB (MYSQL)?
I would either set the db login data within the __construct, or supply these by default. If you do not you would have to enter the login data every time you create an instance of that class... public function __construct($host = 'localhost', $username = 'admin', $password = 'admin', $dbname = 'mydatabase' , $tablename="mytable") You could also set these as class properties. The concept is the same though. You can also separate your SQL connection fro the Class and connect in a different class, and instantiate that class from within your constructor. You might want to put inspiration from this answer.
