how to set profiles using parallel_tests gem
This may or may not be useful, but in the cucumber.yml, you can just add a parallel: profile and it will get picked up automatically. You can specify one on command line but I didn't bother trying to figure it out because I don't really have the need to switch profiles.

Why would installing Azure SDK 2.1 or powershell 3 on the build server break some of our tests which run in powershell?
Have you tried passing a fully qualified path to startInfo.FileName instead of just Powershell.exe incase there's a problem with %PATH% since the update Complete total guess, but any chance your running into FileSystemRedirector 32 vs. 64 issues as seen in this answer - Process.Start(): The system cannot find the file specified, but my file path seems to be legit

PowerShell Community Extensions not Recognized by TeamCity PowerShell Runner
Do you import the PSCX module in your script? PowerShell v3 will cache the module info after you have done this once so you don't need to import it again. However if TeamCity is running the 64-bit console and you normally run the 32-bit console, then the 64-bit console wouldn't have PSCX commands in the command cache. Anyway, it is a good practice to have your scripts explicitly require the modules it depends upon e.g. #requires -Modules Pscx

Alternative to spring profiles
You could define all your environment depend beans into several files, such as : beans-dev.xml beans-prod.xml Your XML config would be : <beans> <import resource="beans-${myapp.env}.xml"/> <bean id="bean1" class="..."/> <bean id="bean2" class="..."/> </beans> In this case, myapp.env property is a JVM system property, i.e. configured with -Dmyapp.env=dev or -Dmyapp.env=prod. myapp.env cannot be setted from a property placeholder since Spring <import> are resolved before property placeholders.

I wrote simple function for example: public Dictionary<string, ProfileGroupBase> GetGroupProfiles(MembershipUser user, string[] groups) { return groups.ToDictionary(group => group, GetUserProfile(user).GetProfileGroup); } public Dictionary<string, object> GetProfile(MembershipUser user, string[] properties) { return properties.ToDictionary(prop => prop, prop => UserProfile(user).GetPropertyValue(prop)); } And the usage: x.GetGroupProfiles(Membership.GetUser("Rafael"), new[] { "Name" })

Restricted profiles settings not being remembered
Turns out that you need to add some code when generating the RestrictionEntry Though I will update so that people don't have to hunt... In your receiver call final Bundle oldRestrictions = intent.getBundleExtra(Intent.EXTRA_RESTRICTIONS_BUNDLE); then when creating the entry reference it. e.g. RestrictionEntry myEntry = new RestrictionEntry(KEY, oldRestrictions.getBoolean(KEY, false)); myEntry.setType(RestrictionEntry.TYPE_BOOLEAN); myEntry.setTitle("KEY TITLE"); newEntries.add(myEntry);

Searching user profiles on Twitter
The Twitter API supports a People Search similar to the website's "Find on Twitter" search feature. Although you can not directly search using only profile descriptions, it appears that the description content is used as part of the search space. If you can think of a way to narrow down your results even further by directly searching the returned users' descriptions, you should be able to do what you're looking for. Check out the Twitter API documentation for more info. Example: Try searching for "husband father of three", and you get these results, which obviously are returned because of the profile descriptions.

IOS app with different profiles and core data - design
1) is core data appropriate for this kind of use or am I asking for trouble? It depends on the nature of the data and how you plan to use it. Involving a web service isn't really relevant to this question. It's unlikely that you'd be "asking for trouble", but depending on what specifically you're trying to do, other options might also be good ideas. 2) Is it possible to write the app in such a way so that when the user switches profiles to a new identity, the app switches persistent stores / managed object contexts so that the new identity is essentially sandboxed from the old one in terms of data. If so, I'd appreciate some pointers to help me understand how to do it as I haven't been able to find anything so far. I've seen a lot of references on how to use multiple MOC's and per

You'll need to identify the environment yourself, and choose which modules to apply in which environment, but you do have access to Modules.override to specifically override certain bindings without having to create a lot of module variants. Use it judiciously—it's very easy to get your modules tangled if you override many bindings or in unpredictable places.

How to manage restricted profiles in android app?
The UI for users to control the restrictions you've built is managed by the system's Settings application. To make your app's restriction settings appear to the user, you must declare the restrictions your app provides by creating a BroadcastReceiver that receives the ACTION_GET_RESTRICTION_ENTRIES intent. The system invokes this intent to query all apps for available restrictions, then builds the UI to allow the primary user to manage restrictions for each restricted profile. For more info look at http://developer.android.com/about/versions/android-4.3.html#RestrictedProfiles

Is it possible to implement user profiles without using SimpleMembership?
If you don't want to store the passwords (which SimpleMembership would do by default), you are better off deriving your own custom provider from ExtendedMembershipProvider (or maybe from SimpleMembership, but that would get complex) and write the LDAP implementation, or using one of the ones on NuGet. There's no built-in LDAP support in SimpleMembership, so any approach you do would be a nasty hack which will probably bite you later on. As for the UserProfile, it doesn't sound like your requirement is that different to the usual UserProfile use case - create custom properties on the UserProfile model, update the database accordingly, and build a UI to allow the user to edit whichever of those properties they should be able to directly edit. (edit) Footnote. In my answer to "How do I us

Adding a controller to edit profiles
The forms will only work when navigated to from localhost; Use url helper in index.chtml: href="@Url.Action("Edit", "Home", new { id = prod.Id })" The forms are empty; You should to fill you model in controller: [HttpGet] public ActionResult Edit(int id = -1) { var employee = new Employee(); // here you should to get user data for editing instead of creating empty model if (employee == null) { return HttpNotFound(); } return View(employee); } Access is not restricted to admins and the owner of the profile The best solution for this case would be to implement custom autorization attribute for CRUD actions. Bluetooth and iOS - what protocols/ profiles are supported?
These are standard profiles that are supported inherently by iOS. You don't need to add any software to make the phone work with these. At the same time apps running on the phone will have limited access to what device they can use or are using but for example the audio routing can be obtained. All in all, as long as the device implements the profiles correctly, any application will be able to use it, not just yours.

How to handle several marshalling profiles in RestEasy?
I tried the solution given by @Blaise Doughan but ObjectGraph override the existing annotation based mapping on my class. What I wanted is to extend this mapping. So I chose to do this by extending my annotation mapping with an xml mapping. According to the tutorial by Blaise, you can do this using MOXy : extending-jaxb-representing-annotations Dont forget to write a jaxb.properties file which specify which implementation of JAXB to use : specifying-eclipselink-moxy-as-your-JAXB-implementation It's working fine for me. Thx Blaise !

What is the difference between iOS Distribution and APNs Production iOS profiles?
APNS Provisioning Profiles are for Apple Push Notifications. You shouldn't bother with them unless you are setting up an app that pushes notifications using APNS. The one you need, for a general XCode project/iOS app, is a general iOS Distribution Provisioning Profile.

Provisioning Profiles in Xcode - can't shift this error
Ahh the joys of codesign -- it has tripped up many developers trying to get build configuration setup. This too is a mismatch between a few different settings in Xcode and potentially your App Store Distribution Profile. There are three places that you have to make sure are set identically to ensure this error clears, each of which is tied to the AppID. I answered a similar question relating to a Development Certificate and Provisioning Profile, however the same set of checks is required for your App Store distribution certificates and provisioning profile: A valid provisioning profile matching the application's identifier could not be found That question includes some additional information about where particular settings are located, and the process by which one would go through to

Problems importing certificates and provisioning profiles
You have to export your private key from your old Mac to your new one. What you have to do if you can't get it is generate a new one. Go into your keychain and go to the Certificate Assistant and request from CA, and save it to disk. Upload it in Apple Developer, and generate your new certificate and install it. You can also create a new provisioning profile for Dev and Distro, and associate your newly generated cert with it. XCode should show everything green under organizer (i'm assuming now it shows all yellow).

Can't get linkedin profiles summaries using Spring social
EDIT. It is true, summary is included in the basic profile. So normally you must be able get it. It looks like a bug on LikedIn side. I am almost sure that you need to request `r_fullprofile` permission to be able get summary (see [corresponding documentation entry][2]). To do it with Spring Social you can try to: add corresponding parameter to signin form <form name="linkedinin_signin" id="linkedin_signin" action="${linkedin_uri}" method="POST"> <input type="hidden" name="scope" value="r_fullprofile" /> </form> and use some [more recent Spring Social version][3]. Support for Linked In scopes was added starting from Spring Security version 1.1.0.M2. Hope it helps.

Converting website with profiles to web application project
Your Membership.GetUser() returns null, this can be caused by: You are not authenticated, Membership.GetUser() will only work for an authenticated users. Otherwise, it's going to return null. To verify you're dealing with an authenticated request call User.Identity.IsAuthenticated on the page. If you've got an authenticated request, but Membership.GetUser() is still returning null, then that means the username associated with the authenticated user can't be found in the Membership datasource. Verify the username of the authenticated user with "User.Identity.Name". If you're calling one of the Membership.GetUser() overloads which takes the username and it's returning null, then that user doesn't exist in the Membership datasource (or we've got a bug). One way to easily verify this is

If your Datas is a dynamic array, you can't hard code them in batch, you have to iterate. This means you can't use GOTO :%...%, as %...% is unexpected, and your labels are already written! Step 1: show Datas - I assume Datas are files on profiles/users/data :DataList SET DATA_COUNT=0 FOR %%i IN (profilesusersdata*) DO ( SET /A DATA_COUNT+=1 SET %DATA[!DATA_COUNT!]%=%%i ECHO !DATA_COUNT!) %%i ) Step 2: get user input SET /P Datas=Enter= REM Get sure thar %Datas% is a number: SET /A Datas*=1 IF %Datas% GEQ 1 IF %Datas% LEQ %DATA_COUNT% ( SET TEST=!DATA[%Datas%]! How to use powershell variable in PowerShell.AddParameter method in C#?
The variable won't be available until you invoke the first script. Try this: ps.AddScript("$backupFile = [System.IO.Path]::Combine([System.IO.Path]::GetTempPath(),'{0}.bak')".FormatInvariant(databaseName)); ps.Invoke(); ps.Commands.Clear(); var backupFile = ps.Runspace.SessionStateProxy.PSVariable.Get("backupFile"); ps.AddCommand("New-Item") .AddParameter("Force") .AddParameter("ItemType", "File") .AddParameter("Path", backupFile )); ps.Invoke(); If you go this route though, I don't think you can use the RunspacePool because you're likely to get different runspaces between each Invoke(). In that case, the variable won't be available to the other runspace. Do you really need to use the RunspacePool in this scenario? If you do then why not just do the first bit in C#: var backup
