Can I use SQL Server-2012 Express edition over a network when the FIREWALL is on
You still need to make sure you're connecting through a known port, and open that port on your firewall. In the configuration manager, open the TCP/IP settings. Under IPAll, ensure Dynamic Ports is blank and TCP Port is 1433. Then, make sure 1433 is allowed inbound on your firewall. If you have a network level firewall, check with it's administrators to make sure that port is open. Yes, network sharing will work with the professional edition with a firewall - just need to make sure the correct ports are open.

Windows Mobile emulator network connection on Windows 7 64bit
You are talking about two different things. One is "How to 'cradle' Devcie Emulator Images and the other is how to get a working virtual network card in Emulator Image: For the virtual network setup look here: http://www.petenetlive.com/KB/Article/0000241.htm. You need to install a special driver. Cannot Connect To SQL Within Azure Network
Have you created the appropriate Windows Azure SQL Database firewall rules for your VMs in Windows Azure? You can use either the special 0.0.0.0 for all of Windows Azure or, better, provide the public VIP of your IaaS cloud service (not the private DIP of the individual VMs). The latter limits firewall access to only your cloud service, since the outbound connection to WASD will use your public VIP. Note that if you delete (or stop/deallocate) all the VMs in your cloud service you will lose the VIP.

Usage of app.use() in express/connect
Connect keeps a "stack" (an Array) of middleware and route handlers. And when a request is processed, it simply iterates through all handler functions in the stack in order and (subject to some route matching rules), invokes the handler functions. this.stack.push({ route: route, handle: fn });

How to create Windows Phone 8 app package for windows store using VS Express 2012 for windows phone?
If I understand correctly, you're hoping to publish a Windows Phone 8 app to the Windows Store (on Windows 8)? Publishing to each store (phone/Windows) is a separate process, requiring different projects, and as you've seen, different versions of Visual Studio Express 2012. There's an helpful Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 App Development Dev Center for guidance on doing this, and a recent article by Doug Holland on "Sharing Code between Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 Applications" that should help as well.

How to connect two computers on the same network using python
You are connecting from the client to the client's computer, or well attempting to, because you are using the client's hostname rather than the servers hostname/ip address. So, to fix this change the line s.connect((host, port)) so that the host points to the servers ip address instead of the client's hostname. You can find this by looking at your network settings on the server and doing the following: host = "the ip found from the server's network settings"

NodeJS Connect/Express app.use handling
The middleware "chain" is actually just a "stack" which is actually a simple javascript Array of functions to execute in order. Whenever you call use, connect appends your function to the middleware stack. When it's time to run middleware, connect just executes all the functions in order with a bit of logic to pass the req, res, next parameters and wire up the next callback to mean continue processing the middleware stack. I agree with @robertklep that you should read the source code as it is quite readable and illuminating.

Connect to website on local network without knowing IP
It is the simplest and the most interoperable, but not sufficient for your case. Short answer is NO. Longer answer - usually Apple stuff comes with them on, Linux often comes with Avahin On, Windows world won't move finger unless you configure it so. But alternatives are even worse. In way, yes it will. Avahi is open-source implementation (read linux/bsd world), while Apple stuff has own proprietary thing (they started whole zeroconf story), and Windows world has own zeroconf implementation. You will also need that nobody uses .local domain within particular local network - there is certain non-zero probability that company-owned networks will have .local already populated by microsoft networking. Uhm, theoretically yes - Avahi is essentially low-scale DNS with few other low-level things

iOS Corebluetooth - Sometimes won't connect to a device until I do a network reset
If your device is only looking for a specific service/characteristic specified in the GATT profile, that could be the problem. For whatever reason, Apple left out of their documentation that the Bluetooth automatically caches the GATT Profile until the bluetooth is turned off and back on. So if you are changing the GATT on your LE device, and your phone is looking for something specific in the GATT, it may not be able to find your device. Unfortunately, I don't believe there is a way to clear the cache programatically, so you'll still have to manually reset bluetooth. However, if you aren't changing the GATT profile, that whole above paragraph doesn't apply to you =P What I would keep in mind is that Bluetooth LE "slaves" (or, as Apple calls them, peripherals) can only have one connecti

Bad Request when trying to connect to ISS 7 Express from android emulator
The OP seemed to have found a solution, but for posterity's sake, here's a more thorough explanation of what's happening and how to fix it. I had a similar issue using a local Rails server. I realized that I didn't understand the relationship between the IP address and the hostname. They're different and if we're not careful, we can run into issues. The Relationship Between IP Address and Hostnames in the Host File Hostnames can be assigned to the IP addresses, but IP addresses are not assigned to hostnames. hostname --> IP Address This relatioship seems trivial, but it's important to understand that it's a one way relationship. The hostname takes you to the IP address, but the IP address is not aware of the hostname. Lets say we have two hostnames that point to 127.0.0.1: localho

connect visual studio and sql express on amazon EC2
Assuming that you have a connection string (to server ec-xxxxxxx.xxx.amazon.com), your problem could be that the .Net instance (let's call it NET) and the SQL Server instance (SQL) don't have the rights to see each other. Create two instances with the different security groups On both groups, you'll like want to open RDP (you probably have that already as I can read) On the SQL instance security group create an inbound rule for port 1433 and open it only for the security group of WEB. Otherwise, the whole world can access your SQL Server Express database. Like this, only the WEB instance can access it. You need to paste the security group id of WEB into the inbound rule for SQL to do that. Good luck.

How to connect Adempiere (or any PostGreSQL) to SSRS 2012 Express?
Since you're using Express edition, if you're trying to connect to any Data Source other than an database on the same SQL Server instance it won't work. See Features Supported by Reporting Services in SQL Server Express. From that article: Report data sources must be SQL Server relational databases that run locally in SQL Server Express. Also: Analysis Services, Oracle, XML, SAP, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), OLE DB, and ODBC data sources are not supported. You're going to need a different edition to connect to an ODBC Data Source.

How to connect to MS SQL Server database from ASP using windows authentication specifying a windows user
You've got at least 2 3 options here: Create an App Pool on your web server which runs as domain/usr and then assign your app to this app pool, and use integrated security. Your connection string will be Data Source=dbServer01;Initial Catalog=POS123;Integrated Security=SSPI; - i.e. drop the username and password - these are inherent in the AppPool's identity. or (assuming Mixed Mode security is enabled) ask your DBA's to create a new SQL User (just called usr) with the same permissions as domain/usr and then change your connection string to standard security, with User Id=usr If you enable impersonation (here and here), you can use the domain credential without changing the app pool identity. Note the point about securing cleartext passwords, and IME this typically also requires addition

Restify.js (Connect/Express) middleware ignoring call to next() within promise callback
Adding the restify.bodyParser() middleware BEFORE the custom middleware resolves the issue. n.b: // Add bodyParser() to the stack before the custom middleware server.use(restify.bodyParser()); server.use(function checkAcl(req, res, next) { // Promise is resolved var promise = function () { var deferred = require('q').defer(); deferred.resolve(); return deferred.promise; } promise() .then(function () { next(); // next() now behaves as expected. }, function () { res.send(new restify.NotAuthorizedError()); }); }); ... Connect Windows Phone and Windows 8 apps to SQL Server
You can't directly connect to a SQL Server, because of the Metro-Apps-Sandbox concept. They only can comunicate with a server through a service. The only way around this limitation that I know of is a SQLite integration into Windows 8 Apps. In my opinion the best way (if you use Visual Studio) is the EntityFramework. It seems a bit complex at the beginning, but the ORM really helps while developing (less mistakes through intellisens, more security against injections). Then you wrap it up into a WCF Data Service and you are ready to use any SQL-Database in your application. The Entity Framework enables developers to work with data in the form of domain-specific objects and properties, such as customers and customer addresses, without having to concern themselves with the underlying dat

How do I migrate an existing Windows Azure VM to a Windows Azure virtual network?
I haven't verified the flow, but it should be working fine. Follow these steps: Make sure you are not using static IP on your AD/DC. The IP Addresses in Azure shall always be DHCP allocated! Shut down the AD/DC Copy the VHD blob to a new blob! I strongly suggest that you have the OS Disk (VHD blob) in a storage account which is in the same affinity group as the Virtual Network. So, if the current OS Disk is not in a Storage Account, which is in the same affinity group as the VNet, create a new storage account and copy the original VHD there. Please note that you should copy the blob only when the VM is shut down! Create the sub-net you want to bring the VM in. (probably you already have created it). Create a new VM using the copied VHD as an OS Disk and selecting the Virtual Network and

Share Windows folder outside my local network
Oh my! First, this is an extremely bad idea to open a network share to the outside world. Access databases are shared as normal files through the smb protocol. That protocol is not really secure and opening your machine as such (you need to open and forward TCP port 139) would certainly invite lots of unwanted attention (in short, your machine will probably be exposed and taken over in a matter of a few minutes/hours unless you know exactly what you are doing to secure it). Second, letting people access an Access database over anything else than a fast wired LAN is another extremely bad idea (WiFI, even if it's on a local network, is bad because it's unreliable and drops in the connection can damage the access file). The only ways you can share an Access database over the internet are:

Toast notification without network - windows phone
A Windows Phone application won't show a toast notification while the application is running, so it's up to you to intercept the notification and respond accordingly - typically by updating the UI of the app in place versus displaying a toast per se. You'll want to implement the ShellToastNotificationReceivedEvent to handle the scenario where the app is in the foreground.
