Fonts turning bold, not supposed to
I guarantee you have a LABEL or H2 that isn't closed properly. You have only have only 2 elements with a bold definition: LABEL and H2 If you have closing tags missing or out of sequence, the style will cascade in the document, making everything bold.

Why some web sites uses multiple fonts inside their CSS file such as ((font: bold 12px Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;))
It allows for fallback fonts if a font is not available on a user's system. If Verdana is not available the browser will then try to use Arial. If Arial is not available it will try to use Helvetica, etc. Typically, custom fonts are listed first and then get more generic as the list progress with the last font listed usually being a system default available on all operating systems.

How do I install my own fonts on Nodejs Server?
A: Font Assets Ensure that you have a license to use said font on the server. If you don't have permission/license for the font, then you should look into it, or a suitable alternative. Google Fonts and Font Squirrel are two great resources Check to see if there is an existing entry for said font on a CDN (Such as Google Fonts) If there is a common CDN entry available, then use that. If no CDN is available, generate the necessary web fonts via the FontSquirrel Generator This will give you a zip file with the various font formats and a sample CSS to use. From here, you'll want to host said fonts in your application. B: Hosting in Node.JS Assuming you are using ExpressJS, you'll want to use the express.static middleware in order to serve up a dir

Nodejs cron plugin vs running nodejs script from crontab
The main difference between the two methods in my opinion would be the level at which you want to schedule job. When using crontab your jobs are scheduled by the cron daemon that runs on the system. node-cron on the other hand is a pure JavaScript implementation of cron. So system is not responsible for running jobs but your V8 engine which executes it. Jobs will be run as long as your js application runs. So why would you use one or other ? That depends on the purpose of your job, where is it best tethered . If job is a maintenance job for system run it via crontab. If you want to run a function in node.js periodically use node-cron. If you want to run a bash script you would want to use crontab. So how you want to do it via system (bash) or JavaScript is upto you.

CakePHP AssetCompress plugin and fonts
You need to be careful with relativly linked assets. If its images or fonts. The paths wont match after compressing and storing those files in a different location ("cache_css" folder in your case). So always link your assets relative to root (not the current file) to avoid this. From root (for http://www.domain.de/ it's / - the part after the domain) it will always be accessible with the same url, thus always be reachable, no matter where the final compressed css will be located at. // if the file is in WEBROOT/css/font/ url('/css/font/arvo-regular-webfont.svg#ArvoRegular') PS: and try to avoid those localhost setups. use vhosts and a local url like "my.website.local" etc.

Using js regex to replace simple markup styles like **bold** to bold
Use a Regexp object as the first argument to text.replace() instead of a string: function toMarkup($this) { var text = $this.text(); text = text.replace(/**(.*?)**/g, "<b>$1</b>"); text = text.replace(/__(.*?)__/g, "<u>$1</u>"); text = text.replace(/~~(.*?)~~/g, "<i>$1</i>"); text = text.replace(/--(.*?)--/g, "<del>$1</del>"); text = text.replace(/<<(.*?)>>/g, "<a href='$1'>Link</a>"); $this.html(text); } Note that I also replaced all of the .* with .*? which will match as few characters as possible, otherwise your matches may be too long. For example you would match from the first ** to the very last ** instead of stopping at the next one. The regex also needs the g flag so that all ma

Tutorials for writing plugin for nodejs app?
Found the answer by myself. There is PROBABLY no way to write a plugin for a general nodejs app if the app itself doesn't explicitly support plugins. However, it is extremely easy to change an app to support plugins. The only thing to do is using the powerful "require" to obtain the plugin module with its name. For example, in Karma 0.9.4 (latest version by now), it has plugin.js which loads all plugin modules: ... var requirePlugin = function(name) { log.debug('Loading plugin %s.', name); try { modules.push(require(name)); // Call require here! } catch (e) { if (e.code === 'MODULE_NOT_FOUND' && e.message.indexOf(name) !== -1) { log.warn('Cannot find plugin "%s". Did you forget to install it ? ' + ' npm install %s --save-dev',

How to split line of text (first half bold, second half not bold) when creating document using Google Script
You've asked a lot of different questions there! Given an existing paragraph, how can some portion of it be rendered in bold while the rest remains normal? A Document contains a Body, which can contain Paragraphs, each of which can contain other elements, including Text. You can get that Text either as a string - which you can't do much with - or as a Text Object. Here's an example of using the Text.setBold() method to change just some text in a paragraph to bold: var doc = DocumentApp.getActiveDocument(); var body = doc.getBody(); var firstParagraph = body.getParagraphs()[0]; textElement = firstParagraph.editAsText(); textElement.setBold(0,6,true); // Set the 0th to 6th characters bold Alternatively, you could use the Text.setAttributes() method with your custom attribute bold

Why aren't my fonts working?
Try this, if that doesn't work I would put all of the sources on one line and if that doesn't work then remove the format attribute. (The fix below adds a comma you missed after the .svg which is an issue on all 3 of the @font-face). @font-face { font-family: 'TikalSansThin'; src: url('./fonts/TikalSansThin.eot?'); src: url('./fonts/TikalSansThin.woff') format('woff'), url('./fonts/TikalSansThin.ttf') format('truetype'), url('./fonts/TikalSansThin.svg') format('svg'), url('./fonts/TikalSansThin.otf') format('opentype'); }

How can I prevent Google Fonts requesting local fonts?
You'll have to make the font request manually then. So, you may be requesting http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Ubuntu. Go there (in different browsers - it serves requests per browser) and copy the code. I'll just use what it gives me in Chrome for now, but there'll be different font formats you'll want to include. It says: @font-face { font-family: 'Ubuntu'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; src: local('Ubuntu'), url(http://themes.googleusercontent.com/static/fonts/ubuntu/v4/_xyN3apAT_yRRDeqB3sPRg.woff) format('woff'); } Copy that it your local CSS, removing the local in the source parameter. Then, just change the font-family name to something like. @font-face { font-family: 'Webuntu'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; src: url(http://themes.googleusercon

emacs does not uses fonts from /usr/share/fonts
Was my fault. I'v checked with ldd command and saw that there was no dependecny from libfreetype. And only configuration like: ./configure --with-x-toolkit=gtk added freetype library dependency to binary. So from now it is ok. One more thing to notice about "default system emacs" errors. Emacs binary i thought was the system one,was also custom builded long time ago (also without freetype support), and according to my paths configurations this custom one was executed when I simply typed "emacs" without path specification. I am very shame, sorry for such misconfiguration. To be honest its very strange that no default freetype support is configured.

For more information, please see the nginx proxy_pass documentation: http://wiki.nginx.org/HttpProxyModule#proxy_pass

Nodejs + Rickshaw: src= reference not working
You need to configure express.static middleware so that express knows where to look for static resources like js and css files: app.use(express.static( __dirname + '/public')); Its common to put such resources into a public folder (as shown in the example above) or static folder. If you create a public folder and organize it like app.js public rickshaw vendor d3.v2.js rickshaw.min.js then you'll be able to have the files correctly loaded in your html using <script type="text/javascript" src="/rickshaw/vendor/d3.v2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="/rickshaw/rickshaw.min.js"></script> See this section of the express docs for more info on and examples of middleware.

event handling not working as expected nodejs
There are several obvious problems with this code. Firstly putting the close event inside the data event is a bad idea. If the connection closed before data was received that section of code would never be reached. Next is there is a big problem with the section with c++; if (c == 2) Since you never reset c to 0 the next line dotComStatus = data.split(' ')[1]; is never executed. But then the socket closes and the event closed is triggered. And this is executed again. console.log(dotComStatus); connections--; chkconnections(); But the value of dotComStatus has not changed since c was equal to 0. There are many examples of how to do this connect/data/end flow that is common in NodeJS. var port = 43; var net = require('net'); var host = 'whois.internic.net'; var searches

Run nodejs command line module to output in nodejs web server?
you could have 2 node instances. One the http server and the second instance the command line instance to run jasmine. The http server instance would spawn the command line instance. Then you could register a GET route on the http server such as someexample.com/runtests which would call the tests and wait for the tests to finish and respond with the console output. This is sort of unorthodox, but there wouldn't be a direct way to run command line applications through the browser without modifying their source.

IndentLine vim plugin not working
First you should check if the problem is in your configurations. You could comment all lines on your .vimrc and check if the plugin works; then remove all files from your ~/.vim except the IndentLine plugin. In case the plugin works, you can insert parts of your configuration until it stops working again, so you can understand what is broking it. If you are unable to make the plugin work you should follow romainl advice and report to the plugin's author. Edit: From the plugin readme: This plugin is used for displaying thin vertical lines at each indentation level for code indented with spaces. For code indented with tabs I think there is no need to support it, because you can use :set list lcs=tab:| (here is a space). If you are using tabs for indent then the plugin will not work,

jQuery Cycle plugin not working
A couple of things were needed to get this functioning correctly. First of all, you were never calling cycle(): $('.scrollable4 .items').cycle({ timeout: 0, next: '.next', prev: '.prev', fx: 'scrollRight', easing: 'easeInOutBack' }) Secondly, to mimic the effect you're looking for, you need the easing.js plugin (see external resource in jsfiddle linked below). Finally, within your CSS, you can't float the elements, they need to be absolutely positioned and given a height of 100%. #divleftcontent2 .scrollable4 .items { position: absolute; height: 100%; } There are other ways to fix the height issue but that is a different question.
