Apple push notification is not working for distribution but working for development
You probably use wrong deviceToken. Remember that production deviceToken and development deviceToken are different! You should log your deviceToken and then iPhone Configuration Utility will log you correct production deviceToken.

Push Notification working in Development But not In Distribution
You need to check the following scenarios and execute. In the firewalls need to check the 2195, 2196 ports and also check gateway.sandbox.push.apple.com, gateway.push.apple.com Sign your application using distribution profiles and run the application in distribution mode. Make sure if you are running the application using distribution mode then in server side also should use distribution PEM files. I believe you are made the mistake in this scenario.

Node.js node-apn module for Apple Push Notification stopped working after moving to Amazon EC2 instance running Ubuntu 12.04
Check your node --version s. On my Mac, homebrew installed v0.10.12 but on the server I was running v0.11.8-pre (by mistake). Apparently the present node-apn doesn't work under the unstable. I had this same extremely frustrating issue and hunted among firewalls/OpenSSH stuff until I realized the APNS connection still worked through PHP. The Ray Wenderlich script is a quick way to check if the problem is with node or elsewhere.

Updated Push certificate and Apple Push Notification doesn't work
Did you build your app with the development provisioning profile and install the updated app on your device? If not, your phone probably still works with the production APNS environment. If you installed the app, did you register for push notifications and get a development device token? Finally, if you got a development device token and sent it to your server, are you sure you used the development device token when trying to push a notification to your device? Are you sure you used the development certificate and connected to the sandbox APNS server?

Apple Push Notification Limits
Might want to check this out: There are no caps or batch size limits for using APNs. The iOS 6.1 press release stated that APNs has sent over 4 trillion push notifications since it was established. It was announced at WWDC 2012 that APNs is sending 7 billion notifications daily. If you're seeing throughput lower than 9,000 notifications per second, your server might benefit from improved error handling logic.

Apple push notification questions
From Apple Developer site: The Notification Payload Each push notification includes a payload. The payload contains information about how the system should alert the user as well as any custom data you provide. The maximum size allowed for a notification payload is 256 bytes; Apple Push Notification Service refuses any notification that exceeds this limit. The limit is on complete payload which mean JSON + Your Message. So your message should be limited to 236 characters and then add the character count of following JSON: {"aps":{"alert":""}}. how fast can i send a second message to the same device? I have some problems that only 1 message arrives. There is no restriction on sending messages to one device. However, Apple does not guarantee delivery of all of your m

Apple push notification Vs. Parse
I didn't understand what are you trying to ask. You can use Apple push notification service for sending remote content. With Any content related to your App. Check RemoteNotifications for details. Parse is also using the Apple's push notification service. Edit: For implementing your own servers for push notification check this tutorial : Push Notification Services

There are package name mismatches throughout your manifest : The package of the app : package="com.ettamen.app" In the permissions, you should use the package of the app, but instead you used : <permission android:name="com.ettamen.permission.C2D_MESSAGE" android:protectionLevel="signature" /> <uses-permission android:name="com.ettamen.permission.C2D_MESSAGE" /> Both should be com.ettamen.app.permission.C2D_MESSAGE. Android distribution build is not working fine. Development build is working fine
I got the issue. I was using a function that was declare and define after calling it. That breaks the flow of code. Javascript runs the code line by line.That's why it create problem. When we test the development build , it is not minifed.While distribution build is minified. Just check the publishing build before uploading on store. It may be some issue like this.

iOS- Apple push notification resend from APNS
The answer is NO Here is what apple says about it, If APNs attempts to deliver a notification but the device is offline, the notification is stored for a limited period of time, and delivered to the device when it becomes available. Only one recent notification for a particular application is stored. If multiple notifications are sent while the device is offline, each new notification causes the prior notification to be discarded. This behavior of keeping only the newest notification is referred to as coalescing notifications. If the device remains offline for a long time, any notifications that were being stored for it are discarded.

Apple push notification coding on ubuntu
We had the same problem today. This question and the comment and my old experience solved this nightmare. I was on mobile dev with mac, and my colleague at server side Ubuntu. There is the Creating the SSL Certificate and Keys description and tutorial for server side. You can stuck days and days and wandering what is wrong, why isn't working, search for error messages and re-create certifications and still low chance to get working. In our case the solution it was: needed to download one certificate from Entrust, which usually isn't at tutorials. Clear all previous certificates, provisioning profiles from XCode and keychain on mac related to that company, developer. Restart Mac. You can wonder why needed this, why isn't enough to remove. Just restart it. Do the steps with import to ke

How to add hidden data on Apple Push Notification
The payload in the example uses an aps dictionary to request that the device display an alert message with an Close button on the left and a localized title for the “action” button on the right side of the alert. In this case, “PLAY” is used as a key into the Localizable.strings file for the currently selected language to get the localized equivalent of “Play”. The aps dictionary also requests that the application icon be badged with the number 5. { "aps" : { "alert" : { "body" : "Bob wants to play poker", "action-loc-key" : "PLAY" }, "badge" : 5, }, "acme1" : "bar", "acme2" : [ "bang", "whiz" ] } For more info: Apple Dev

Apple Push Notification - all messages get sent but not all get delivered
When you were working for 1 device, I guess you were using development profile. And for multiple device, you must be using distribution profile. So just check all your provisioning profiles and registered devices according to provisioning profile. Delete the profile which you are not using and that should solve your problem.

How do you get pyapns (python push notification) working on a mac?
Solution is two-fold: If you are using virtualenv, make sure that you have activated it so that step 2's package is installed in your virtualenv and not your system's python. pip install py-kqueue Substitute the words kqueue for epoll when you want to start pyapns, like below: epoll doesn't exist on a mac. twistd -r kqueue web --class=pyapns.server.APNSServer --port=7077

apple push notification servicce ssl certificate expired?
That's the way it is. Apple issues a one year push certificate, and once it expires, you have to create a new one. The generation of the new certificate is a manual process (involving the Keychain Access app and the iOS provisioning portal). Finally you must upload the new certificate to your server (since your server needs that certificate to send push notifications), so you have to update the server. There is no way to around that. Is updating the server once a year such a trouble?

Is Apple Push notification using APNS free of cost?
Apple does not charge a separate fee for utilizing the push notification service. Your only cost is a server that will be sending the push notifications to Apple. There are third-parties that provide this servers and there is a fee for that.

How to write Apple push notification using Spring AMQP?
Spring AMQP is for sending messages to an AMQP broker, which in the case of spring is only RabbitMQ at this time. If you just have to use spring-amqp then you will need to create a producer using AmqpTemplate.convertAndSend. Then you will need a consumer that pulls messages off of the queue. See SimpleMessageListenerContainer and MessageListener for the consumer. Your consumer would contain the Push.alert("Hello World") code. Of course, the "Hello World" string would be replaced with whatever payload you are pushing to APNS.

Push Notification service is not working, When device is switch off
Apple Push Notification service includes a default Quality of Service (QoS) component that performs a store-and-forward function. Only one recent notification for a particular application is stored. The feedback service has a binary interface similar to the interface used for sending push notifications. You access the production feedback service via feedback.push.apple.com on port 2196 and the development feedback service via feedback.sandbox.push.apple.com on port 2196. for reference Updated Apple Document You can Use javapns powerful and fine-tuned Java library for APNS, FeedbackBasicExample Note: feedback service seems to only work on the production url.

Can we use GCM to send push notification wihout starting the app even once as broadcast receiver not working for android 3.0+
User will be shown permissions about your app, there is a way an application can start right after installation, and BroadcastReceiver work since API Level 1 to the latest API. But since API Level 11 (version 3.0) you need to use this. Intent intent = new Intent("com.mypackage.yourapp.custom.intent.action.ADDON_REQ"); intent.setFlags(Intent.FLAG_INCLUDE_STOPPED_PACKAGES); sendBroadcast(intent);

iphone development: launching app on receiving push notification
In your AppDelegate you could react to the receipt of the notification and restore the application state in a way that is appropriate for your app. For example if your main view controller is a UINavigationController and the user may have navigated down in the view hierarchy, you could just pop back to the navigation controller's rootViewController: [[self navigationController] popToRootViewControllerAnimated:YES];

When my app is in background, push notifications are handled only if I touch the top notification banner and not working while i click app icon
You can not get data for push notification if clicked on app icon on home screen. But there is way around, you could send a small payload to your server whenever the app enters in foreground, then ask for the server to send push notification immediately. Also take a look at this : your question is possibly duplicate of it. Hope this helps you.

Does receiving one push notification or multiple push notification have any different effect on battery usage?
I believe that sending ten notifications an hour will consume more battery than one notification an hour. The reason is that when each notification arrives, it will wake your screen to show you that there's a new notification, and that consumes battery.

Apple Distribution Certificates (Mac)
If I understand it correctly (I am also confused by some parts of the signing and deployment process) it is still not possible to create deployment related certificates if you are not the Team Agent in the developer portal. (Even if your client is enrolled as organization and has assigned you the Admin role:https://developer.apple.com/programs/roles/) The easiest solution would be if your client hands out the log-in credentials for the dev portal as this would allow you to use Xcode's Organizer window for all signing and deployment steps. If this is not possible, you should be able to manually import the developer profile data (including the private keys) from your client. Apple has a Best Practices section in the App Distribution Guide.

Distribution through Apple Enterprise : employees only?
The enterprise distribution program does allow you to distribute apps to select users without knowing their UUID. The iOS Enterprise Distribution guide explains everything you need to know to distribute apps outside of the app store. In short, you can host your app on a web server that requires authentication. UIAutomation not working with Distribution type of IPA
I've been dealing with a similar problem as of late. We have Jenkins build our ipas, and the usual workflow is to copy them to my machine and run the UI automation. All had been working for me just fine. However, we changed provisioning profiles recently. I verified that my UDIDs were on this provisioning profile, and that I had copied this latest and greatest provisioning profile both to my device and my computer. When I start the UI Automation now (just like the above user) app is launched, no steps are recorded. Adding a -v for verbosity didn't seem to help either. When I build locally from our latest trunk (same code), then archive to an ipa, UI automation runs fine. It looks like the ipa from our Jenkins server is not matching up with what I have. However, talking to developme

paperclip with amazon s3 working in development but not working in production (amazon ec2)?
Had same issue with image_magic that was breaking our paperclip functionality in production, but not in development (weird, I know). Yet even after removing imagemagick from our gemfile and Gemfile.lock locally (running bundle install and all that stuff) and then deploying back to production on heroku, the error persisted in production! (weird, I know). What ended up doing the trick was running: $ heroku repo:purge_cache -a myAppName (Taken from: https://github.com/heroku/heroku-repo#purge_cache) When you deploy your app, Heroku caches some things like your assets and installed gems in order to speed up deployment. Although this is a great feature, it can have side-effects sometimes, and in this case, it seems that something about the imagemagick gem got "stuck" in production's cache,

In Xcode 5, what you only need to do is turning "App Sandbox" on in Capabilities tab for your project target. It'll generate a file named project_name.entitlements for you automatically. This works for me, and it changed to "Waiting for Review" state now. ;)

Application works inside netbeans but distribution jar is not working
Double check that all the jar files that you use within your project are included in the dist/lib folder after your project jar file has been built. Take a look below at a README.TXT in the dist folder: When you build an Java application project that has a main class, the IDE automatically copies all of the JAR files on the projects classpath to your projects dist/lib folder. The IDE also adds each of the JAR files to the Class-Path element in the application JAR files manifest file (MANIFEST.MF). To run the project from the command line, go to the dist folder and type the following: java -jar [project-name].jar To distribute this project, zip up the dist folder (including the lib folder) and distribute the ZIP file. Notes: If two JAR files on t

Intercepting push notification android c2dm from another application and using the notification in my app
First of all, c2dm has been deprecated for a year now. You shouldn't use it in new development, and if you have apps already using it, you should migrate to Google Cloud Messaging. In GCM, when you using the same credentials for differnt apps, you still get different registration ids for the same device. Therefore one app cannot receive the notifications sent to another app. You must send the notification from the server to the registration ids of both apps.

As declan said, this is caused by the fact that postgres is case sensitive when using LIKE. The problem with using ILIKE is that it won't work in sqlite anymore. A kind of hack which works is to change the search condition to: find(:all, :conditions => ['UPPER(name) LIKE ?', "%#{search.upcase}%"])

Push notification not appearing in notification tray
Finally I got the issue and that was from server side. Might be one of the same case for others too.. aps = { alert = { dictioanry = { key = value; key = value; }; }; badge = 1; sound = default; }; Here I asked the php person to add body tag and I was able to get notifications in tray.. How to get notification.alertBody in my app from a remote push notification?
Remote notifications run outside the sandbox the app is running in, so you can't capture the notification in the same way as local notifications, i.e. application:didReceiveLocalNotification. However, if the app is launched via the remote notification, you can capture the notification via the application:didFinishLaunchingWithOptions - (BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions { UILocalNotification *notification = launchOptions[UIApplicationLaunchOptionsLocalNotificationKey]; if (notification) { // do something with the notification.alertBody } else { // from the springboard } }
