Android Studio proguard doesn't work
I'm not sure because I didn't use Android Studio to build a release apk yet, but try to look at this http://tools.android.com/tech-docs/new-build-system/user-guide#TOC-Running-ProGuard You probably need to configure gradle to use proguard, considering that android studio is using it to build

Phonegap 3 doesn't work with Android Studio
Upon must digging I found how to get past this: phonegap run android Its as simple as that. [Edit] You need to add platform to work with, whilst the documentation is so very very poor: C:varwwwsexdiaries.co.uksexdiaries>phonegap build android [phonegap] detecting Android SDK environment... [phonegap] using the local environment [phonegap] adding the Android platform... [warning] missing library cordova/android/3.0.0 [phonegap] downloading https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=cordova-android.git;a=snapshot;h=3.0.0;sf=tgz... [phonegap] compiling Android... [phonegap] successfully compiled Android app Then you are good to go, doing an import with Andriod Studio will also work now as you have a project to work with :) Fantastic.

UIButton vertical alignment doesn't work
UIButton has a very nifty property named "titleEdgeInsets" which you can use (via UIEdgeInsetsMake to reposition the top and bottom margins of the title and get the thing centered, vertically.

Why vertical-align using display:table doesn't work for me?
In this case, you'd need to add those styles to the container. The text in p is vertically aligned, but only within the p itself, which has no explicit height. .tutorial_step { width: 400px; text-align: left; display: inline-block; box-sizing: border-box; -webkit-box-sizing: border-box; -moz-box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Arial,Liberation Sans,DejaVu Sans,sans-serif; font-size: 15px; padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 20px; border: 1px solid lightgray; border-left:none; height: 350px; font-weight: bold; color: #525252; background: #f9f9f9; display: table-cell; vertical-align: middle; } Works.

CSS, vertical alignment doesn't correctly work in Mozilla Firefox
Have a look at working demo here: Demo #contentWrapper{ width: 100%; position: static; display: table; overflow: hidden; min-height: 100%; height: 100%; background: red; } This is working fine in Firefox . Is this what you are looking for?

Is it possible to make ProgressBar vertical in Xamarin Studio (Android)?
Finally answering my own question. In order to make a standard progress bar vertical you should create a class which inherits from ProgressBar and override the Draw method: public class VerticalProgressBar : ProgressBar { protected VerticalProgressBar(IntPtr javaReference, JniHandleOwnership transfer) : base(javaReference, transfer) { } public VerticalProgressBar(Context context) : base(context) { } public VerticalProgressBar(Context context, IAttributeSet attrs) : base(context, attrs) { } public VerticalProgressBar(Context context, IAttributeSet attrs, int defStyle) : base(context, attrs, defStyle) { } protected override void OnSizeChanged (int w, int h, int oldw, int oldh) { base.OnSizeChanged (h, w, oldh, oldw); //Fixes the wi

Android Studio: Android Manifest doesn't exists or has incorrect root tag
I ran into a similar problem. Looks like my .../src directory for whatever reason moved under my .../lib directory. I moved it out of the /lib directory. Now both /lib and /src are at the same level. After a couple of clean rebuilds and restarts of Android studio everything is back to normal. My emulator started up fine. You might want to check your directory structure. Compare the directory structure with a working project. You might be able to see the difference.

SketchFlow Template for Windows Phone doesn't work with Blend for Visual Studio
I've also posted to that thread with a solution. Which I will also add here. I've posted a fix for using this template with SketchFlow that ships in Blend/VS2013 (may work in 2012 but I didn't test). Please read my instructions I've tried to be a clear as possible. You WILL need to download and install the SketchFlowWP7.zip file from this codeplex (I also provide a copy in the link below). Extract SketchFlowWP7.zip and run the SketchFlowWP7.msi to install. When it prompts where to install choose the path to your copy of Blend. For instance for VS2013 it's default path is "C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0Blend" Next you will need to navigate down into the following folder "C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0BlendProjectTemplatesenCSharpWindowsPhone" Here y

Don't work git in Android Studio
you need to install git on your computer first. in my case on Ubuntu I installed it with: sudo apt-get install git-core in terminal and followed by : git config --global user.name "NewUser" git config --global user.email newuser@example.com for configurations. That's it and now it works perfectly.

Android Studio doesn't create new project
When you are creating a new project, you have to select "Android Application Project" (File --> New--> Android Application Project) instead of directly creating Android Activity. Once you have created a new "Android Application Project", you will find all the required files & then you can go on creating "Blank Activities" (File --> New --> Others--> Android --> Android Activity --> Blank Activity).

Android Studio doesn't execute build.gradle
When being run in Android Studio, gradle's stdout where you can find your print statement is the "Gradle Console". Hover over the square in the bottom left of the Android Studio window and you'll see lots of options to select things like Console, Maven, Event Log, etc. Select Gradle Console and you should see the output that you get when running from the command line. If you still don't see your statement being logged, chances are something isn't configured correctly inside your Android Studio project. Try synching your project with the gradle build file by going the top menu bar and (on a mac) Tools > Android > Sync Project with Gradle Files. If there are no errors in this process you should be able to see the output in the Gradle Console.

Unable to get Robotium to work in Android Studio
As far as I can tell, you can't successfully run any tests from Android Studio yet (see How can I create tests in Android Studio?). You need to do it from the command line (note that you may need to clean first ./gradlew clean): To run the instrumentTests, use ./gradlew connectedInstrumentTest To run your test task, use ./gradlew localTest For future reference when Android Studio works better with test integration, you can set it up to run any given Gradle task. Go to 'Edit Configurations' and click the '+' button to add a new one. Choose 'Gradle' and then configure it to point to the correct gradle.build file and the task you want to run. I'm not sure what you would add in the 'Before launch' section, however, if anything. All that being said, here's how I got my robotium tests to run

How to setup Android Studio to work completely offline?
Ok guys finally I overcome to this problem here is the solution. 1: Download the gradle-1.6-bin.zip for offline use. 2: Now paste it in the C:Usersusername.gradle directory. 3: Open the AndroidStudio and click on the Create New Project option and you will not get this error any more while offline. But you can get another error like me or some other erro like this... Don't worry just ignore it. Your new project with your Specified name has been created. So now click on the Import Project and go to the path C:/users/username/AndroidStudioProject and open your project and you are done.

Android Studio is not loading on the device, local path doesn't exist
I've encountered this problem after migrating from Eclipse to Android Studio. As shantanu said, gradlew packageDebug helped to point out that I need local.properties file, so I've created it in the project root with just one line, and after that all works fine. local.properties contain only one property - sdk.dir, and looks like (in Windows): sdk.dir=c:\path-to-android-studio\sdk Don't forget to change in your path to \ (there's no need to escape / in Linux or Mac). Wrote this answer only to gather all info about common problem after migrating from Eclipse to Android Studio to help many people get rid of this little trouble faster without googling every step.

Android Up Navigation Doesn't Work
On pre-Jelly Bean devices, per the source code of NavUtils, shouldUpRecreateTask is: public boolean shouldUpRecreateTask(Activity activity, Intent targetIntent) { String action = activity.getIntent().getAction(); return action != null && !action.equals(Intent.ACTION_MAIN); } Which uses the Activity's action (i.e., ACTION_VIEW, etc.) to determine if this Activity was launched from an external source. On Jelly Bean+ devices, it uses Activity.shouldUpRecreateTask (source code): public boolean shouldUpRecreateTask(Intent targetIntent) { try { PackageManager pm = getPackageManager(); ComponentName cn = targetIntent.getComponent(); if (cn == null) { cn = targetIntent.resolveActivity(pm); } ActivityInfo info = pm.getActiv

Android' fts3 table doesn't work
In 1, MATCH works only with strings, so it converts all values of the wordId column to strings and searches them for the string '65535'. In 2, you are comparing the values in the wordId column with the string '65536'. In 3, you are comparing the values in the wordId column with the number 65536. You should use parameters (selectionArgs) only for strings, not for numbers. Please note that the only queries that work efficiently on FTS tables are lookups with MATCH and lookups on the rowid/docid. If you need other lookups, you database schema is not designed correctly.

At the comment // add any framework properties to fwprops, I only had to add the Framework launching property specifying the persistent storage directory used by the framework. Since it is Android, the default value for the storage directory doesn't seem to work. Instead, I should specify the directory under sdcard. Hence, I added this line: fwprops.put("org.osgi.framework.storage", "sdcard/fwdir"); Below is my updated code: @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_main); Map<String, String> fwprops = new Hashtable<String, String>(); //CHANGED // add any framework properties to fwprops fwprops.put("org.osgi.framework.storage", "sdcard/fwd

Android locationManager requestLocationUpdates doesn't work
The primary reason why you aren't getting updated location information quickly is that you're relying on the NETWORK_PROVIDER in the RestaurantHelper.getLastKnownLocation() method, but registering a LocationListener for the GPS_PROVIDER in onCreate(). So, this code in RestaurantHelper.getLastKnownLocation(): Location location = lm.getLastKnownLocation(LocationManager.NETWORK_PROVIDER); ...should be changed to: Location location = lm.getLastKnownLocation(LocationManager.GPS_PROVIDER); In theory, this should then give you the latest GPS location, which should have been refreshed when you register the listener. Conversely, you could also change to listening to the NETWORK_PROVIDER in onCreate() and leave RestaurantHelper.getLastKnownLocation() as is. It depends on your accuracy requi

Pinging Android devices from C# doesn't work
This is an old question, so I'm guessing you've found a solution or a workaround since then, but here are a couple of suggestions anyway. I think there is an error in your logic. You set up an AutoResetEvent to wait on, and you use SendAsync, which is a non-blocking call, but you never wait on the AutoResetEvent, so your program just goes on and does other things. In the callback there is a comment "Let the main thread resume." and you Set the AutoResetEvent, but nobody is waiting on it, right? Next, the idea of "pinging all the possible local IP addressees" sounds like a poor idea. Network administrators will not feel kindly towards you. My suggestion (which may not be feasible, not knowing exactly what your setup is) is that your Android app should send a little "hello, I'm alive (and
