pie css not working on anchor tags
You have to add postion:relative for IE specific stylesheet not in your main stylesheet... make the target element position:relative, or make the ancestor element position:relative and give it a z-index. if you have any doubts please go through the below URL... http://css3pie.com/documentation/known-issues/

Using jsoup is there a way to get anchor tags that are within div tags with class attribute that have display none style in the css class..?
Select all <a>-tags and search if one of the parents is a <div> with the hiding-class: for (Element a : doc.getElementsByTag("a")) { for (Element parent : a.parents()) { if (parent.tagName().equals("div") && parent.hasClass("hidden")) { a.remove(); } } } Or easier - just remove all anchors in a <div> with the hiding-class: doc.select("div.hidden a").remove();

Why are nested anchor tags illegal?
Anchor nesting is not recommended by standards (although all browsers I tested it on seem to lead to the innermost click target) because of ambiguity. It is not logic to say that a big part should lead to a certain page and in this part a small section should lead somewhere else. I still have to see any use case for this kind of behaviour. With the evolution of available scripting languages, this kind of iteration or heritage can work (javascript click events on divs for exemple), but never will a code want to direct to a certain URL and then to another (parent anchors' href). Edit: Looking at the question you referenced in yours, stacking 2 anchors that point to the exact same href is completely useless. Just remove the nested one and everything is gonna be good. If it is because you di

Trying to capture click events on anchor tags
You need to use event delegation based event registration since you are dealing with dynamically added elements. The .on(), you used is only a short hand for $(".some_class_name").click(...), to make use of event delegation you need to use a different syntax of .on() $(document).on("click", ".some_class_name", function(event) { event.preventDefault(); alert("hello"); });

Angularjs ng-click-active class for anchor tags
your question is kind of vague but in general you could use ng-class to conditionally apply classed to you elements you could define a $scope property which defines when or when not to apply the ng-class to the element example: <html ng-app> <head> <script src="http://code.angularjs.org/1.0.6/angular.min.js"></script> </head> <body> <input type="button" value="set" ng-click="myVar='my-class'"> <input type="button" value="clear" ng-click="myVar=''"> <br> <span ng-class="myVar">Sample Text</span> </body> </html> you may as well see this post

Anchor Tags - Link to bottom of browser window instead of top
I would use JavaScript. Take a look at http://jsfiddle.net/Sy269/2/ The issue is that anchors are made to go to the top. So, if we take the window height. JQuery Live on anchor tags - Click Event - IE 8+
I'm afraid you cannot achieve this. If you have several handlers for the same event type assigned to the same element, then the order of execution of handlers is not determined: W3C model does not state which event handler is fired first http://www.quirksmode.org/js/events_advanced.html P.S. Consider using .on() instead of .live(), which is deprecated.

How to set automatic height to anchor tags in jquery mobile?
I think this depends where your link is. Is it in a listview? I tried to make two links with two different images inside (different size) and I don't see the behaviour you are describing. Also, even though probably unrelated, # in links is normally used to link to another page. See here - http://jsfiddle.net/TeNCE/ Can you either provide your jsFiddle or edit this one? <div data-role="page"> <div data-role="header"> <h1>Header</h1> </div> <div data-role="content" data-theme="none" class="flex-container"> <div><strong>Something</strong></div> <a href="#an-href"><img src="https://cdn1.iconfinder.com/data/icons/yooicons_set01_socialbookmarks/64/social_google_box.png" alt="Icon" />

Active state sticks with block elements in anchor tags
The active selector doesn't work with in page jump anchors, only with external anchors. With in page jump anchors, active selector will apply style to all in page anchors. It will work with external links, for example when you have a webpage with a menu apering on every page, active selector can be used to evidentiate in the menu the page you are currently on. In your case, you can try to use focus selector instead.

Do I always have to call preventDefault for anchor tags with href='#' in Backbone / Marionette views?
You have three options: always return false in the handler or call preventDefault on the event use href="javascript:void(0)" (which hurts my eyes) place some sort of special class or data attribute on the links that you don't want to be navigable and create some generic handler that always prevents the navigation use <button> whenever you are using <a> with a dummy href right now In my opinion, the last option is the best, because it's clear that these GUI elements perform some action that is 'local' to the content you are showing at the moment, while links (or rather: URIs they link to) are by design representing different resource (and content).

jQuery AJAX returned HTML data anchor tags not clickable in Firefox
The problem had nothing to do with the javascript, jQuery, or AJAX. What was going on was that I had a transparent "mask" div covering my slideShowC div. So my html output layer was covered by a transparency layer. Once I removed the transparency layer, the links were, of course, clickable. Still odd that IE lets me click through div layers. But, ah well, not important at this point.

Select all anchor tags with an href attribute that contains one of multiple values via xpath in lxml / Python
It might not be that bad just to do a bunch of 'or's. Build the xpath with python so that you don't get writer's cramp and then precompile it. HTML Parsing and removing anchor tags while preserving inner html using Jsoup
How about extracting the inner HTML first, adding it to the DOM and then removing your tags? This code is untested, but should do the trick: Edit: I updated the code to use replaceWith(), making the code more intuitive and probably more efficient; thanks to A.J.'s hint in the comments. Document doc = Jsoup.parse(inputHtml); Elements links = doc.select("a"); String baseUri = links.get(0).baseUri(); for(Element link : links) { Node linkText = new TextNode(link.html(), baseUri); // optionally wrap it in a tag instead: // Element linkText = doc.createElement("span"); // linkText.html(link.html()); link.replaceWith(linkText); } Instead of using a text node, you can wrap the inner html in anything you want; you might even have to, if there's not just text inside your li

Why does compiling my XCode project work with Apple-(B)uild and fail to compile with Apple-(U)nit tests?
You are probably right with your comment. Try this: Select the file that the build error is related to Make sure that the File Inspector is visible (Option + Command + 1, or View > Utilities > Show File Inspector) In the File Inspector there is a section titled "Target Membership" Make sure that your file is checked for your unit test target If your project uses folders (folder icons are blue) instead of groups (folder icons are yellow) then you must select a top-level folder to see the "Target Membership" section in File Inspector. In this case you do not set target membership on individual files, but on a top-level folder. All files and subfolders inherit target membership from their top-level folder.

Anchor tag not working - not sure why
The problem isn't with the anchor. You have some javascript event that is causing the scroll to return to the top. You can see this if you reload the page and quickly scroll down after a half a second or so it jumps back to the top once. The same thing is happening after you click the anchor tag. I'm not sure what script is causing it yet, but that is where I'd look. Update: In dmcommon.js you have the following code: window.onload = function () { setTimeout(function () { window.scrollTo(0, 1) }, 10) }

All of then content within //*[@id="content"]/div[2] is floated to the left. Floating elements don't affect the height of their containing block-level elements.
