How can I get facing html elements to left-align and right-align, respectively, preferably using CSS?
You are using display: inline-block; which will make the element inline, it is no more a block level element, hence there is no space for the text to align to the left or to the right. Just wrap the elements inside a div and than float the element to the right. Demo Also am using .wrap { overflow: hidden; /* This will clear floats */ } For a better clearfix, you can also use the below snippet and call the class on parent element. .clear:after { clear: both; display: table; content: ""; } You can also assign width to the .wrap here, so that elements stay inside boundaries.

Align two elements horizontally
So just having a quick look, looks like you should add/remove the following .second { float: right; width: 509px; } Then remove margin-left: 520px from p.description so p.description should read p.description { display: none; color: #999; float: right; } Then add some padding or something to description to make it sit better, Hope this helps some what :) P.S main div should be float left, second should be float right, no need for display: inline-block

How to align 4 different form elements

And the select, input[type="text"] and input[type="submit"] will all be in one line! The height thing: The height thing in sele

How to align elements in a Dialog box?
Your DatePicker has some confused layout properties. First you set it be be top of the whole view with 'alignParentTop' then you center it horizontally (fine so far,) but then you tell it to centreInParent which seems contrary to what you are trying to do. Also from the looks of your sketch both the date and time pickers should have a width of match_parent (possibly with identical margin parameters and if you want the buttons below to fill the views width between them I would put them in a horizontal orientation linearlayout. Hope this helps.

Not able to align the elements in-line
A solution would be to float the elements rather than using inline-block, see working example here: http://jsfiddle.net/tw2Wp/2/ Note that I also added an extra div with the class clear which will clear the floats. By doing this your background will appear again. Because of the floated elements the parent div doesn't have a clue how large it should be (so it's height 0). .clear{ clear:both; }

How do I center align a div that contains floated elements?
As you can see here the "div that contains floated elements" is actually in the center (red). I am assuming you want to center the floating elements themselves, not their parent. I'm afraid you can't do that (as far as I know). But in case you are not depending on your elements actually floating, you propably just want to display your .colum as inline-block with an text-align:center set to the parent. Changes to your CSS: .parent_container { text-align:center; // added } .column { display: inline-block; // added margin: 0 25px; // added float: left; // removed margin-right: 50px; // removed } Result as Fiddle

Align TextView elements alignParentLeft
You are not getting this problem because your textview are not aligned to the left - you are getting this problem because you have given all your textview the same attribute - android:layout_marginTop="25dp" which means that they will all be the same distance from the top. To fix this you need to make your textview relative to each other - for example, you CityCountry text view should have the attribute android:layout_below="@id/address" That is how a RelativeLayout works, because it lets you put elements on top of each other, you have to specify when you don't want them to be on top of each other. Alternatively you could use a LinearLayout with the attribute android:layout_gravity="right" and this would stop the textviews from overlapping.

How can I align select and input elements on a form?
I would start by being more consistent with your containers. You put the input directly inside the td, but you put the select inside an li. Try putting them both in the same containers. You probably don't want to use an li right there since it's not in a list. So I would probably get rid of the li in the second td.

How to align 2 elements where the first element fills all available space?
You can do this two ways - the first is a Linear Layout. You give the text a width of 0dp, but tell it to take any space left over after the first measurement with the "layout_weight" attribute. The Image takes the space that it needs and is then pushed all the way to the right by the text element: <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/layout1" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="horizontal"> <Button android:background="@null" android:text="The Button Text" android:id="@+id/btnText" android:layout_width="0dp" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:layout_weight="1" android:gravity="left" /> <Image

How to Right Align elements in Table Layout in Java code?
Solution 1: Use a RelativeLayout, make use of it's attributes: Replace the children with android:layout_alignParentLeft="true" for the TextView and android:layout_alignParentRight="true" for the CheckBox. That positions the children relative to the parents borders. You may also want to add android:layout_centerVertical="true" to each child to center the two vertical within each list item. Solution 2: If you want it for the table, use myTable.setColumnStretchable(2, true); in Java. and android:stretchColumns="2" in XML. Solution 3: Use CheckedTextView. I think this will serve your need. Hope that helps.

Bootstrap icons nested in elements align wrong in IE8
It looks as if the work around I posted in the fiddle is the easiest solution to this problem. If your using a single glyph icon inside of an anchor or span to trigger some type of popover in twitter bootstrap: <a class="pop-me-over" data-toggle="popover" data-placement="top" data-content="This is some extra information." data-title="Information"> <i class="icon-info-sign"></i> </a> Simply add the popover data attributes to the <i></i> and remove the wrapping element. How to align inline radios / checkboxes and help-block elements in horizontal form with Twitter's Bootstrap 3
    Your markup seems to be valid on first sight. About your question 1. You have set your input with: <div class="col-lg-1"> <input type="text" name="weight" class="form-control" value="20"> </div> So to width is set with the col-lg-1 prefix, see also: http://stackoverflow.com/a/17920693/1596547. "col-lg-1" stack below 992 pixels. When you're screen width is > 992 px. The div got a width of 8.333% (100/12). The form-control class set the width of the input tag to 100%. Below the 992px there is no definition for "col-lg-1" cause the 100% width of the input, the input is displayed with 100% width. Try to use the col-* prefixes which never stacks (or use other CSS to set the width) I did not found different behavior for Chrome at all. Above the 992px i will find this

    In android layout how do I align elements underneath a listview regardless of the listview's height
    It sounds like you've used android:layout_below="@id/listVieId" and android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" as these would give the results you mentioned. It sounds like what you want is addFooterView(View v) Note what the Docs say NOTE: Call this before calling setAdapter. This is so ListView can wrap the supplied cursor with one that will also account for header and footer views.

    .align directive proper usage with .align(5) and 0x90
    It's a power-of-2 alignment, e.g., ALIGN(4) for 16-byte alignment, ALIGN(5) for 32-byte, etc. The 0x90 specifies the opcode for the NOP instruction - to be used as the padding instructions to achieve the alignment. There are longer instructions sequences that are also effective NOPs. Many of the assemblers support the more flexible .p2align directive; all recent GNU-based assemblers for example.

    C++ Final exam study material
    Since B is derived from A, every B is an A. So pa can point to an object of type A or any derived type. But the type of object doesn't change, so b is still of type B and behaves as such. The only restriction is that, since it's being referenced by a pointer to A, you can only reference the methods and member variables that are declared in the base class A. For an explanation of why C++ works this way, look for a discussion on vtables.

    Ink 'n Paint Material does not work with ThreeJS?
    First of all, Number 3) will NEVER work with OBJ, because obj will not export the ink shader from 3dsMax. And just to be clear, i don't think there is ANY way you can export the 3dsMax Shader. Then, I don't understand what 2) is about. What do you want to achieve anyway? Do you want to set an object to be transparent? What does this have to do with Ink 'n Paint? Btw. i am not sure if transparency works for MeshNormalMaterial, i guess it should but Lambert and Phong will definetly work with transparency. The problem is that you do not state what you want to achieve. From 1) it seems you want an outline around an object. For an outline see this example: http://stemkoski.github.io/Three.js/Outline.html or this one as a more advanced example: http://stemkoski.blogspot.de/2013/07/shaders-in-
