Getting asp:TextBox text property in codebehind from a web user control after a javascript update
Edit 3: The below code will work for static controls, but dynamically-created controls will not be preserved on postback. You will need to store the updated values so they can be retrieved on postback somehow (e.g. a Session variable or HiddenField). If possible, I would create the controls statically and populate them in page_load, hiding controls with no data - this would allow you to get the values on postback as below. Hmm...I set up a super simplified version of your code and ran it pretty much as is (without the database function), and it seems to be working fine. Here is the simplified version I used: <asp:Content id="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent" runat="server"> <asp:ImageButton ID="imgbtnSave" runat="server"></asp:ImageButton> <a

How to change user control label.text from a form
I think you must have two instances of ModbusMaster. One of them is the one you can see on the display, and is NOT being updated. The other one is the one you create in class Form1 with the line of code: ModbusMaster mb = new ModbusMaster(); That is the one you are modifying, but it isn't the displayed one (I cannot see anywhere that you can be displaying that). What you need to do is use the reference to the actual displayed one instead when you call mb.openPort("wooooo"); [EDIT] Thinking about it - it's possible that you haven't instantiated another user control at all. Did you use Visual Studio's Form Designer to add the user control to your main form? I had assumed that you did, but now I realise that might not be the case. If not, you should do that, give it the name mb and

Concatenating string in Text or Label property
Reference a server-side function to return the desired string. I apolgize, but this will be in vb.net. However, it is minimal code so I don't think it will be too hard to translate into C# if that's what you need. Steps Create the ASP.NET tag for the label control. Inside the text attribute, insert a data-binding expression for the function getAssembly() . Example: Text='<%# getAssembly("Fullname")%>' We will build this function in a moment. Also note that it accepts a parameter to identify what piece of information you need regarding the assembly. Another common mistake is not using single quotes for the inline expression (because double quotes will conflict with the string parameter). Import the necessary namespaces System and System.Reflection into the code-behind. Create the

How to get label's text by HTTP handler (.ashx) in repeater control
If you are not married to the idea of using an HTTP Handler, then I suggest making a method in your .aspx page's code-behind that does the same logic your handler is doing minus the content-type stuff, like this: protected string GetName(int pro_id) { return DBHelpername.name(pro_id); } Now in your markup you can use this method, like this: <asp:Label ID="Label1" runat="server" Text='<%# GetName((int)Eval("id")) %>'> </asp:Label>

Double-clicking .NET Label control copies its text to clipboard on Vista+?
It's not your code, it's a "feature" introduced in Windows Vista. In Windows Vista, a Windows Shell programmer checked in a change (with no spec/justification in the changelist) that changed the default label control to copy its text to the clipboard when double-clicked. This change typically doesn't impact C++ applications due to how they create/host the label control, but it impacts all VS.NET applications. I filed a bug against the (surprised) Framework team when I discovered this in the Win7 timeframe, but they were scared to fix the bug because it had been present for so long. Here's the duplicate Is there any way to disable the "double-click to copy" functionality of a .NET label?

Update a Label daily with new text
Try this code for any comparison between dates... You should not compare date in the form of string. Compare the dates before conversion to string. Convert the self.serverDate into date format using dateFromString function of the formatter by specifying the exact date format as that of the dateString. Then compare the dates using following function. -(void) callAfterSixtySecond:(NSTimer*) t { NSDate *today = [NSDate date]; // current date NSDate *newDate = self.serverDate; // other date NSDateFormatter *formatter = [[NSDateFormatter alloc]init]; [formatter setDateFormat:@"HH:mm"]; NSDate *todayTime = [formatter dateFromString:[formatter stringFromDate:today]]; NSDate *requiredTime = [formatter dateFromString:[formatter stringFromDate:newDate]]; NSComparisonResult result; result = [

How to update label text from a timer event handler in a different class?
You need the Timer and its event in the same form as the Label EDIT Since you have done it that way, you need to; Declare the Timer object as an instance variable, outside of the constructor, initialise it in the constructor. Don't have to worry about testing 'sender == Clock'. And have a Label instance object in this class as well, setting it to the Label you pass as a parameter in the constructor. Timer Clock; Label LabelTime; public void MyTimer(Label o_TimeLabel) { LabelTime = o_TimeLabel; Clock = new Timer(); Clock.Tag = o_TimeLabel.Text; Clock.Interval = 1000; Clock.Start(); Clock.Tick += new EventHandler(Timer_Tick); } private void Timer_Tick(object sender, EventArgs eArgs) { LabelTime.Text = GetTime(

Update Text on Asp control using JavaScript?

Should i use Associatedcontrolid in label control to render label HTML tag?
The <label> element in html is a label for an <input> element. So the TextBox that is made as an <input> tag if it is associated with a asp:Label or ASPxLabel which is just an extention of the asp:Label will indicate to the .Net framework to translate it as a html <label> tag. In essence if you don't have a TextBox there is no point to translate the asp:Label to html tag. You had better add a new CSS class and format the span as you please if you don't want the TextBox. If you do want a TextBox, then you should add it to your ASPX file and assign to id the same ID attribute value with the AssociatedControlId value at your label.

Visual Studio 2008 can't recognize control(in webform page) in partial class
It's not exactly clear without an example of your scenario, but a couple of things to check.... Make sure you're control is defined in the page (and properly, check the error view for bad markup declarations, etc.): <asp:TextBox runat="server" ID="PaySerialNumber /> You'll likely noticed I summarily abandoned the awful Hungarian Notation. Then in the code-behind, access it (omitting the double this prefix (which I'm not sure whether to take literally from your post or not): PaySerialNumber.Text = "some text"; If that fails, try it in the markup file itself: <script runat="server" language="CSharp"> void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { PaySerialNumber.Text = "some text"; } </script> If that works, then you likely have a mismatched page declaratio

How to select an option from a dropdown list in one webform and view the result in a gridview in another webform?
You can just store the selected item text in onw variable, like the below: dim selText as string = DropDownList1.SelectedItem.Text and on the click of submit button, perform your required tasks and then redirect page to another page along with the department name. Like the below code: Response.Redirect("Page2.aspx?department=" + selText) and on the second page i.e. Page2.aspx, just receive this value in query string, using below code.. wherever it is necessary either on page load or at your required place. If Request.QueryString("department") <> Nothing Then dim departmt as string = Request.QueryString("department") End If And use the above variable's value in your database query and get the related data to the department selected in the previous form. Highcharts x axis label text wrapping lost on setting label step
It's a bit of a hack, but you could replace each space in the name with <br /> by using the formatter: labels: { step: 1, formatter: function () { return this.value.replace(/ /g, '<br />'); } } It's not exactly what you want as it doesn't split the name according to the space available between ticks, but maybe you can improve the formatter to better suit your needs (splitting by a given n characters for example instead of by space). See it running here.

css position label text in the true center (vertical and horizontal) without moving the label
You can use line-height: 30px; to center a single line of text instead. The 30px needs to be the same value as the height of the element you wish to vertically center text in. Note: The fiddle has height:40px whereas the code in question has height:30px. Just choose the line-height to match the height. vertical-align would actually moving the entire <label> (and text) down but only applies to inline-level and table-cell elements. It is not applying in your case as the <label> is floated.

ElementName binding works within in same XAML scope. You can add an extension method to your HiddenField control--it doesn't require inheritance for it to work. But the solution is also limited, since you'll have to change the code to reference the extension method by default. public static void SetValue(this HiddenField c, string text) { c.Value = HttpUtility.HtmlEncode(text); } public static string GetValue(this HiddenField c) { return HttpUtility.HtmlDecode(c.Value); }

Put datatip stack on top of axis label and update axes label after a change was done on axes position
How about explicitly setting the z-position of the y-label via it's handle? If I put this after your loop it seems to work in R2012b: ylh = get(gca,'Ylabel') ylpos = get(ylh,'Position'); set(ylh,'Position',[ylpos(1:2) 0]); If I adjust the z-position I can get the y-label to pop up and even interleave between the datatips. I'm not completely sure if this is a bug or a feature, but sometimes there are workarounds to rendering issues that involve tweaking the position of an element slightly to get Matlab to recalculate and redraw the figure.

Update parent control when the child control is manually removed in the designer
To wrap it up, I found a solution to my problem. Like a TabControl, my ButtonList contains two collections: ControlCollection inherited from the Control class ButtonListItemCollection (TabControl has TabPageCollection) Adding ButtonListItems is done via the collection editor in the properties. Removing can be done either in the collection editor or just by selecting the ButtonListItem in the designer and pressing the DEL button on the keyboard (manual deletion). When using the collection editor, ButtonListItems are added/removed to/from the ButtonListItemCollection and then to/from the ControlCollection. However, when a ButtonListItem is manually deleted it is only deleted from the ControlCollection not from the ButtonListItemCollection. So what needs to be done is to detect when the

A mandatory label user control in C#
You have two options - a custom label control or a user control that contains the label and the * based on a Mandatory property. If you have an explicit need to make the "*" red (seems to be the case per your q), you will need to use the user control. This is slightly heavier, so I would recommend rethinking that requirement. Here's how the custom label control would look: public class CustomLabel : Label { public CustomLabel() { } public bool Mandatory { get; set; } public override String Text { get { return base.Text + " *"; } } } You would now use the CustomLabel instead of the Label.

C# label control not working properly
I'm answering this only because I think it's important to show what happens when scope is confused. The reason you're having your issue is the scope of your variables. Your label is changing iRow * iColumn times, but only during initial execution. From then on, iRow and iColumn are fixed at their final values. To achieve your desired end goal, it'd be easiest to create an extension of Panel: public class ChessPanel : Panel { private const Color HighlightColor = Color.Red; public int iColumn { get; set; } public int iRow { get; set; } public Color PrimaryColor { get; set; } public ChessPanel() : base() { this.MouseEnter += (s,e) => { this.PrimaryColor = this.BackColor; this.BackColor =
