Netscape Enterprise Server and Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS) vs Node.js
The main difference would be the evolution of Javascript over the the past 15+ years. Node.js uses the V8 Javascript Engine which would be far more optimized for modern computers. Wikipedia has a good list of the differences between various server-side JS solutions. Here is a list of features for Netscape Enterprise Server - provides a good idea of what makes modern SSJS solutions much better. Why did it not gain attention? Realistically, client-side JS has only recently started to become the standard for web development so it was unlikely anybody would have considered using it for server-side development when it wasn't even really widely adopted for it's original purpose. I say widely adopted in that previously it was always difficult to cater JavaScript solutions to all browsers.

Win 7, 64 bit, dll problems
This problem is related to missing the Visual studio "redistributable package." It is not obvious which one is missing based on the dependency walk, but I would try the one that corresponds with your compiler version first and see if things run properly: VS 2015 VS 2013 VS 2010 VS 2008 I ran into this problem because I am using the VS compilers, but not the full VS environment.

Problems importing a DLL in c#
your class is declared as EuroVAT. Whereas you initialize object of type EuroVat. Check the register Other thing is, try giving your namespace and class different names This:  return new object[] {country, vatNum, valid, name, address }; creates an array of object type, and populates it with (object)country, (object)vatNum, (object)valid, etc If I get it right how you intend your library to interact with SQL Server, the problem is with this array. Those SQL types, like SqlInt32, SqlString, SqlBinary, etc. do have implicit conversion operators for corresponding types, like int, string. But since array holds object instances, implicit conversion can not be applied. That is the one side. On the other

AS3 Timer problems
In your moveBall() method you are using getTimer() Adobe says: For a Flash runtime processing ActionScript 3.0, this method returns the number of milliseconds that have elapsed since the Flash runtime virtual machine for ActionScript 3.0 (AVM2) started. This means that the value returned from getTimer() will continue to grow as you wait to click. That is why you are experiencing the balls initializing further apart - the speed value of each ball is increased the longer you wait to click, thus moving each ball instantly to the first location the speed value corresponds to, which will be an ever further distance the longer you wait. This doesn't occur when you use the added to stage event because the balls are instantly added the moment the flash file starts to run, and the value from ge

CJuiDialog pop up problems
The CHtml::ajaxLink method has the following signature: ajaxLink(string $text, mixed $url, array $ajaxOptions=array ( ), array $htmlOptions=array ( )) The onclick event you're trying to bind to in this case is an HtmlOption and not an Ajax option hence, you need to specify it as such. When you specify the onclick event to display your dialog, you also need to remove the return false; statement as this would prevent the ajaxCall from being made. So your definition should look like this: $url = CHtml::ajaxLink( Yii::t('job', 'Ledig'), Yii::app()->createUrl('leads/admin'), array('update' => '#offerDialog'), array('id' => 'showOfferDialog', 'onclick' => '$("#offerDialog").dialog("open");') ); //Show Link echo $url; $this-

Problems with PHP code or a bug
Adding brackets to your if statements will solve the issue. Also, you don't have to test the $reflection variable is empty or not. It will always be an instance. Like @traq mentioned, it's better to create interfaces to identify classes with certain behaviors. interface DispatchAware { public function preDispatch(); public function postDispatch(); } class A implements DispatchAware { ... } Now you don't have to check for every method that might exist. You'll know it exists when an class implements an interface. You dispatch code could now look something like: $action = 'indexAction'; $a = new A(); if ($a instanceof DispatchAware) { $a->preDispatch(); } try { $r = new ReflectionClass($a); $method = $r->getMethod($action); $method->invoke($a, $reque

problems with rbind in R
There are two solutions for your problem: Don't write the rownames into your csv file: write.csv(test, "testing.csv", row.names=FALSE) (see ?write.table for details). Read rownames as rownames. Means you have to tell read.csv which column contains the rownames: read.csv("testing.csv", row.names=1) (see ?read.table for details). Don't combine both (you will use your first column).

Scroll bar problems
Just keep track of the line that you are on/or has been updated and call EnsureVisible on the text control. (Also ensure you are using Append rather than Set to add new text). Correction, (now I have access to the help files), I was getting mixed up with MakeCellVisible from Grid controls: YourTextCtrl.ShowPositon(YourTextCtrl.GetLastPosition()) should do the job nicely. Even better if you call SetInsertionPointEnd() on your text control before the text is inserted, (by using WriteText), then your problem goes away.

You don't capture the returned value. e.g. you should have $get_posts = get_all_posts(); If you don't assign the return value of a function to a variable, that return value is thrown away. So your query was basically useless.

Problems with Set<>.contains and hashCode
It seems you forgot to add the selectDTO element in Set: setDTOs.add(selectDTO); Assuming you have added the element somewhere in your code, then you need to override the equals method and not hashCode. As contains() method uses equals() method to determine whether an element exist or not in the set. Interestingly, i believe this is how Set makes sure it does not push a duplicate element in the Set.

R: BDP with overrides problems
000361AQ8 CUSIP should be 000361AQ8 Corp. If 000361AQ8 CUSIP ever worked for you, keep in mind that the Terminal is least strict about input formats, BDP is more strict, and other API implementations are stricter. Server API is least forgiving - for example, it doesn't parse source overrides in the ticker field the way BDP does (e.g. 000361AQ8 BXSU Corp PX_LAST) You should use the most correct "Yellow Key" sector for the symbol you want. There is even an API field to get the correct "Yellow Key" market sector to use with a symbol, once you have identified it by any tolerated method.

c# WCF problems speed
Some production performance issues with both WCF services and using the WCF clients (ClientBase or ChannelFactory directly) are due to the .NET garbage collector being forced to do a lot of work because of sloppy object disposal. I'd use Performance Monitor to check the behavior of the .NET garbage collector at runtime to see if this is causing the spikes. If it is a GC issue then you need to do a review of your service and client code. On the service, ensure object instance scope is as limited as possible. This helps ensure instance are mostly garbage collected in Gen0 which occurs most often. The client code should also be reviewed but it is particularly important in the service code. Also, in both the service but particularly on the client, make sure object instances that implement ID

Why is IE8 making problems?
The issue is that you have a inline style on the main div that holds everything that says its a 1000px. Every element within it has this same width. This will not work in all browsers as you are experiencing. Try using percentages for width on the inner divs like 50% (this number is just a guess ... it will depend on how big your margins/padding is). The reason this is the case is that margins and padding are being factored into all your divs as well as for the main div. You are attempting to fit a div inside a div with the same width. Both the divs have default margins/paddings. In addition, you have explicitly declared some padding which is having a unexpected applied behavior. Two problems regarding AJAX
The click handlers don't work anymore because the new buttons never had the handlers attached to them. When you attach a handler like this: $(".toggle").click(function() { What jQuery does is find all of the currently existing .toggle elements and, for each one, add that function as a handler. Since the new ones are added later via an AJAX call, they're not included in that set and, thus, never have that function attached to them. The way jQuery address this is with the .on() function. The structure of using is it very similar: $('body').on('.toggle', 'click', function() { The difference here is the element which is actually getting the click event bound to the function. With this, the click event is actually being added to the body tag, which isn't changing from the AJAX call.
