Write to response body waits for client to read in Go?
From the http docs: The client must close the response body when finished with it: resp, err := http.Get("http://example.com/") if err != nil { // handle error } defer resp.Body.Close() body, err := ioutil.ReadAll(resp.Body) // ... So your test is violating the contract of http.Client; adding a defer res.Close() should let the server know that the response channel is

What is the encoding of an HTTP request?
From what I can tell, the standard doesn't say: http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616.html A request body should have an encoding in a Content-Type header, but header values should be plain ascii. Anything beyond that isn't specified from what I can tell. I'm not sure that it is strictly wrong but there's apparently no standard you can use for a call to iconv. What I would do is just loop

Can HTTP header requests have colons in the field value?
Yes. So you can do something like this (pseudo): header = "User-Agent: Mozilla:4.0" headerParts = header.split(":") key = headerParts[0] value = headerParts.substring(key.length).trim() // or value = headerParts.skip(1).join() But you'll probably run into various issues when parsing headers from various servers, so why not use a library?

Are there any standards for HTTP over Port 8080?
There is no restriction on the port you can use. While 80 is reserved for HTTP you often see HTTP (proxy) traffic on 8080, 3128 (default port of squid proxy), 8888 and 8000. And of course it can be more ports. So it depends on the kind of analysis you do if you include everything which looks like HTTP independent from the port or if you just consider common ports.

1) Note that the text you cited starts with "Historically". 2) No, header field values can not carry "anything", they are restricted to non-control characters, and whitespace may get converted.

Vert.x publish HttpServerRequest to other module
I have a similar Vert.x based application and I ended up doing the following: I have a HttpServerVerticle that is started from the MainVerticle. There I created an HttpServer with several matchers. IBM HTTP Server, routing calls to Websphere
Event though you have 2 ports (I'm assuming you created custom transport chain and assign 9044 port to it), you added that port to default_host, which is visible in the VirtualHostGroup in the plugin. Your application is probably mapped also to the default_host, so it is available using all ports - 9080, 9443 and 9044. Second transport should be visible in the plugin config for your server with po

Should simultaneous HTTP connections to a new HTTP 1.1 server create one connection or several connections?
If 2 HTTP requests are made to the same server at the same time from fresh, e.g. GET /image1.png If the requests are made by the browser simultaneously (and there is no HTTP proxy server), then there will be two connections made to the server (unless http pipelining is enabled). HTTP Content-type header and body are not transmitted when sent from within PhantomJS
The RFC 2616 for HTTP/1.1 specifies the DELETE method in chapter 9.7. It does not specify anything about the enclosed entity (message body) in the description text which it does for POST and PUT. From your logs it is apparent that PhantomJS doesn't even send the message body and therefore doesn't need to include the content type, because it assumes that it will never be used anyway as it is not d

HTTP DELETE with parameters
I think this answer is sufficiently dealt with in the link found in the comment by CodeCaster. Should we encoded identity of the resource in the message body of a DELETE, the best answer is NO. The RFC does not say NO, but it does clearly say this may or may not be supported.

Difference between GET and POST in an HTTP response (not request)
It's up to the recipient of the request (server) to send back a response. The client can pass preferences to influence the response in the header (content type etc), but ultimately the response is determined by the server.

Extracting custom HTTP Headers to be used in a DSS service

Phantomjs not able to open certain URLs
Refer to this issue. https://github.com/ariya/phantomjs/issues/10522 This is to do with a lack of reliable support for bind(). With phantomjs 1.9.7 there was an attempt to address this but it was never resolved fully until version 2.0. The fix is working in the main branch. The only solution for you seem to be compiling pre-release 2.0 yourself and upgrade to the official 2.0 when released.

Download file without knowing file name
If there is a file name (there doesn't have to be) then it would be in the Content-Disposition header. If there isn't, then you would need to provide a file name explicitly when saving it to the file system. Keep in mind that HTTP isn't a file system. What you're receiving isn't necessarily a "file" per se. It's a body of data with headers that provide some information (meta-data) about that b
